I remember once that in the Dale Brown's 1991 novel Sky Masters, BRP Rajah Humabon was equipped with a four-shot Mk141 Harpoon missile launcher, so it could be possible i guess. The Harpoons were probably removed since the project did not include that. The same one could be said for the Gregorio del Pilar-class OPVs which unfortunately did not cover the Harpoons and Phalanx CIWS. Well at least the Jose Rizal-class frigates operate the South Korean made SSM-700K Haeseong (C-Star) Anti-ship Missile. Here they are launched from a Colombian Navy ship

Any capable active anti-submarine warfare vessels in the service of the PN?

Spike missiles can only penetrate smaller craft of the same size or low flying helicopters. The Harpoon anti-ship missile was offered in the 1970s-1980s but didn't materialize due to the economic situation under the Marcos dictatorship. I'm gonna have to research about the Exocets if these were even considered. I remember once that in the Dale Brown's 1991 novel Sky Masters, BRP Rajah Humabon was equipped with a four-shot Mk141 Harpoon missile launcher, so it could be possible i guess. I did a cross deck in her a fair few years ago! Then it was San Miguel beers & karaoke - fun times.

Along with sailing through your archipelago and Indonesia, so I understand the maritime challenges that face your country.

I'm just wondering since I've researched a bit on missile frigates or missile destroyers (or non-missile variants), what do you guys think of these classes of ships that would be good for the Philippine Navy?
US: Farragut-class missile destroyers, Garcia-class frigates, Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigate, Leahy-class cruiser, Albany-class cruiser UK: Type 22-class frigate

The OHP was the closest to have ever materialized.

I've seen this back in the day. At least two OHPs or the RAN Adelaide-class frigates were considered.
