The Kiowas were retired just last year, so that might be a good addition to the Philippine Army.

The Kiowas were retired just last year, so that might be a good addition to the Philippine Army. There were some fanboy eyes on the Kiowas as an add-on to the PAF's light helicopter fleet. Just like how it did to the U.S. Army, Kiowas would be a great asset for the Army.

Although given the service length on the Kiowas, how long until they get retired from the Philippine military?

Although given the service length on the Kiowas, how long until they get retired from the Philippine military? Probably in 30 years. Keep in mind though, Vietnam War-era UH-1 Hueys are still in use by the Air Force with one just crashing last week.

Hueys? They're still around, aren't they? Given the extremely long service on those Hueys, I would not be surprised.

Are our pilots that incompetent? Or is the Huey chopper vulnerable to even a tiny thing like a telephone wire or a child's kite?

So technical issues would be more of a problem. And given that next year is election year, the next president will have the trouble of trying to either continue with the military acquisitions or suspending some of them.

So I think if we get the Sabrah medium tanks, we might use it to build an armored force. Maybe we can get Magach MBTs as interim MBT solution. Merkavas are out of the question.
By the way, would the Altay be suitable for the Philippines?

Probably the PA is better getting Leopard 2s and LAV-25s along with SPGs and MLRS.

The Philippines historically operated M41 Walker Bulldogs, but other than that, it would depend on the budget that they have for such a thing. So far, the ASCOD is already chosen.
