I think if the nukes the Nimitz carries are able to win the war very quickly then the question would be 'what Warsaw Pact?" Unless TTL's NATO gets that name because its symbolic HQ is in Warsaw.  Especially if the up-timers manage to persuade Roosevelt that Stalin is a major threat. After all its Dec 1941 and the Germans are at the gates of Moscow and Leningrad. The USSR could get its 1938 borders and think itself very lucky.
I have the feeling we're discussed this scenario in a fair amount of detail in a thread in the ISOT section although skiming through I can't find it.

One supercarrier is not going to end it earlier. Eventually, the supercarrier will run out of ammo and fuel for its planes. But it can cause major butterflies. That's a certain. The use of the nuclear reactor aboard the USS Nimitz would see a faster development on nuclear weapons and nuclear energy. Even aviation will take a big leap forward. |

I wish I could be a fly on the wall in Berlin if old Field of Roses passes the NImitz’s books information about the full truth about the German Aktion T4 program, the concentration camps etc. over to say, the NY Times, the Hearst tabloids, The Times of London etc.

Although unfortunately there is evidence that the allied leaders knew most of the details but didn't make them public because: a) They didn't think they would be believed - given how in WWI some stories of atrocities had been exaggerated.
b) Also if they were believe there was the concern public opinion would divert resources - specifically strategic bombers -from what they considered more vital roles.
However expect a big s**t storm if the news became public. The concentration camps aren't fully developed extermination camps yet but there have been the mass murders in the former Pale as millions of Jews came under Nazi control.

Depending on how its used it will end it earlier. The ammo and fuel will be serious problems but the sheer knowledge and the fact that while those factors last it - plus were there some supporting vessels - would really screw over any enemy forces where it was.
If its got nukes and I would assume it has then where their used and against what targets would have a big impact. How big would depend on how the targeted countries react. Especially since they won't know how many/few nukes the US actually has.
