'AHC: Major Communist Insurgency in US'.
Less Weather Underground, more Shining Path Peru or a "Red IRA" launching their own "People's War" on the US government and American society at large.

‘Violet Gibson Assassinates Benito Mussolini’. See here for OTL context. She only got off one shot (her gun misfired the second time), but even then, it still grazed Duce’s nose.

When Ike was elected POTUS, some people (e.g. Eden) warned him re: John Foster Dulles. Ike himself also considered John McCloy, Paul Hoffman, or Walter Judd for the job. The latter however recommended Dulles.
WI Ike had made someone else Secretary of State?

The Fascist Party main remain in power for some years still in Italy but the removal of its main driver might end up it falling apart. Could make for a very different time perhaps without a Croat assassinating King Alexander I of Yugoslavia - occupation of Albania and war against Ethiopia as well as involvement in the Spanish Civil War which all will contribute to a different WWII when that takes off.

Sorry you would have to say more. When are you referring to? Obviously some time after 1900 but not clear when. Since your talking about an extension of it its presumably after conscription was already in place but not clear when.

This one, which originally was from September 16, 1940, but "In August 1941 the Congress extended the tour of duty--it passed the House by a one-vote margin".

OK thanks for clarifying. I suspected it would be during WWII but wasn't sure of the details.
I would say relatively little unless the executive does something really stupid, which I don't think they would. Doubt it would butterfly the growing tensions with the Germans or the Japanese attack and when that occurs that mean a massive support for the war, with large scale volunteers and I very much doubt many in Congress would vote against a revival of this bill after such events. It simply wouldn't be practical to have conscripts serving only 12 months, much of which would be getting them trained and familiar with their gear and formations only to have them able to drop out at any point, even if overseas and in the middle of a battle.
PS - It would of course have an impact on the people released from the 1st cycle of conscription in say Oct 41 as they would be settling back into civilian life when the country is suddenly in a state of war. As such their likely to be recalled to service pretty much straight away but that shouldn't have a major impact on the war effort, although it would be a shock to them and their families.

‘Richard Nixon Assassinated’. When, how, by whom, and why? As POTUS, or earlier?

Some cultural AH: During the 1940s, publisher Warburg started the book series "Searchlight Books", together with great minds like Orwell and Sebastian Haffner. Unfortunately, it had to be cancelled after the Luftwaffe bombed Portsmouth, and the printing shop and the paper supplies were destroyed.
If that bomb hadn't hit, we might have seen more books like these - by Tosco R. Fyvel, Koestler, and Michael Foot.

WI: The Arabs win the War of 1948? What happens to Judaism itself (not the Jewish people) in this scenario?

I haven’t really read it before so other than the mass atrocities against the Jews the synopsis doesn’t really give much away. And I was more so referring to the Jewish faith itself rather than the Jewish people.
