In 1946 in Italy a constitutional referendum with the question of of Italy becoming a republic or keeping the monarchy, what if the vote would be turn around so instead of 54.3 % voting for making Italy a republic the vote would be 54.3 % for keeping the monarchy, how does a Kingdom of Italy after 1946 look like and what would the efechts have on the world stage.

Perhaps Italy would have somewhat more stable coalitions, but that's probably about it. After all, I doubt that Italy's monarch could have avoided becoming a British-style constitutional monarch for very long.

There is the possibility of radicalizing the Communists in Italy even more, given their natural distaste of monarchy.

It won't go Communist as say Poland did, but it might go leftist to the point that it might withdraw from NATO, if Communists form a government. If not, I can see the monarchy becoming rather unpleasant (like maybe Pinochet).

Could we end up with a civil war some years later with the Italian Communist blaming the west of rigging the vote in favor of a monarchy starting a uprising which result in a Italian Civil War which later sees the country split in a Democratic Monarchy ore republic controlled South Italy and a Italian Communist republic controlled North Italy or is that a little bit to much.

It could go that far, but if it does expect American, British, and French intervention almost immediately.

Indeed, the West certainly isn't going to agree to the loss of some or all of Italy to the Communists without an extremely large fight.

Like Italian Campaign of WWII ugly. I wonder if Tito (Yugoslavia) will allow the Soviet Union access true his country so that the Soviet Union can liberate the Italian people from oppression.

Tito was willing to talk with the West on a less hostile basis than the Soviet Union; if he's obstinate, he might actually take the West's side, especially if the Soviet Union invades.

The Soviet Union has then not many option to aid the communist in Italy except invading Yugoslavia in order to gain access to Italy, something i do not see happening.

They could go through Albania and land in Apulia if Hoxha hasn't split yet.
