Could be Mount Weather Emergency Operations Center ore the bunker at the Greenbrier hotel in West Virginia. Greenbrier was the designated evacuation site for the U.S. Congress in an event of a nuclear war. And it will become a fort, unless they do their best to pretend nothing is there. |

The soldiers protecting the scientific team were getting crazier by the day. |

Back to the subject, there is the PEOC beneath the White House but that's not advisable for long-term holding out. In OTL, Vice President Cheney and the rest of the Bush Cabinet, the first and second ladies, and a few military officers were evacuated down here on September 11, 2001. Photos were declassified in July 2015, giving us how the PEOC looked like. Trump was also rushed here on May 29, 2020 when protesters were nearing the White House.   There's also tunnels beneath the White House that allegedly connect it to the Capitol, the Pentagon, and Camp David. My guess is that the President would have been whisked into Air Force One or the E-4B NEACP. Alternatively, the President could flew to Camp David or Mount Weather via Marine One while the Pentagon staff and the SecDef would hold out in Raven Rock Complex, PA. The Vice President would either be relocated to the SAC bunker under Offutt AFB (During 9/11, Bush Jr. stayed here after stopping by Barksdale AFB, Lousiana before heading back to Washington) near Omaha, Nebraska or to Cheyenne Mountain, Colorado. The continuity-of-government has cabinet members, officials, and military officers dispersed throughout the country so not all will be decapitated in an event of an enemy attack. |

I'd agree that White House to Camp David is too far. What a feat of engineering it would be! Marine One is based at Quantico in Virginia but uses the heli-pads at Anacostia to be very close to the White House. Just pure speculation, but maybe there is a tunnel to there leading to underground evac to a helicopter lift to Camp David? |

I remember in the Last Ship they visited the white House and got to the bunker door but could not get it open, indicating everybody inside the bunker had most likely died from the Red Flu. I do know of the White House to Treasury Building tunnel, but a tunnel from the White House to Camp David would be 100 km long, so i doubt that is true. I'd agree that White House to Camp David is too far. What a feat of engineering it would be! Vice President Bush declared a National State of Emergency while aboard Air Force Two. He also avoided commenting on the current whereabouts of the missing President Reagan, when asked.
In his address, he stated that even in this criss that "government for the People, by the People must go on."
Since the crisis, many conspiracy theories abounded at the press conference, staffed only by the members of the press who were traveling at the time of the outbreak of violence.
The Vice President has denied any knowledge of the source of the dead rising. The Vice President also flatly denied that any nuclear arms would be used on US soil, though could not rule out the use of conventional weapons.

Dr. Michael Logan, whose lifetime work in neuroscience has earned him the nickname "Dr. Frankenstein" from some of his colleagues. His name has been attached to numerous black projects that have been reported on by numerous conspiracy circles, including some projects that would violate federal laws.
As the crisis continues, Vice President Bush pondered, there may be a need to change the structure of government as it exists now. He stated that martial law would be enforced for the time forward, only to be lifted at a point in the distant future should the crisis pass. He stated that until the time as the re-establishment of proper elections that all members of any remaining will not relinquish then.

CIA At a Loss for Explanations
The CIA has been promptly denying any wrong doing on this outbreak of the dead rising to attack the living.
Several reporters have been forwarding their theories regarding the use of some chemicals once tested as defoliants in Vietnam as being responsible for the dead rising. The CIA has declared any theories as "utterly preposterous and without merit."
The CIA continues to back its original theory that some form of radiation from the recently returned Venus Probe may be causing the dead to rise. The last of any skepticism of the dead rising was waylaid when one of the active cadaver was brought in for display to the wary reporters. Its teeth had been removed and while a gag covered its mouth, it continued trying to reach for the living from the table. Across the room, Dr. Walsh of the CDC demonstrated how the creature's arms and legs could be removed with little apparent discomfort to it.
Shock turned to retching when the Doctor removed much of the creature's internal organs, including the intestines, lungs, and heart. The silent creature continued to writhe on the table until the Doctor demonstrated with a quick push of a scalpel that the risen can be stopped by destruction of the brain stem, the motor complex which drives the corpse.
A sharp blow to the head is recommend as the method of destruction, which can effectively be delivered by something at available as a baseball bat or a tire iron. People are encouraged to immediately destroy the brain stem of any family members, neighbors, or strangers that should die from any kind of wound while in their presence. The period before the corpse becomes reanimated can vary from between just a few minutes to an hour, possibly affected by how long the once living had been afflicted by the bite wounds from the walking dead.
The CIA spokesman recommended against any use of fire while attempting to destroy the walking dead, as there have been reports of city-wide fires that have occurred when one of the dead became immolated, but continued to walk for some time afterwards. Fire does not have the necessary destructive power to destroy the corpse before it can spread the fire to any nearby flammable materials. It invariably leads to the destruction of any potential safe houses as fire departments and other emergency services are no longer reporting in over a large area of the country.
Until order is restored, people will be on their own and cannot depend on local services and only on themselves.
The CIA then closed the meeting after a breach of security alert.
