A lot of famous people will be, money and fame is not going to help them. If we're talking about Hollywood, they had at least 6-7 hours of warning time before they could have evacuated on their luxury boats or planes. And then they will be sitting ducks, planes need to land to refuel, boats need supplies. |

In the fanfiction "Biggest Fear" which this TL is based on as a continuation of the film, there's a large nomadic group of survivors in the countryside of rural PA. |

Other than that, the special features news states either that speculations include a bioweapon, a mutation of an existing virus, or even sent from space aliens. However, director Zack Synder said it's supernatural just like vampire bites. |

In the realistic sense there's no way a virus would have popped out that way. I'd go for a supernatural divine punishment explanation as stated by director Zack Snyder. Plus, it would not matter what the cause of the outbreak is because in zombie apocalypse fiction, it's better to keep it mysterious that way. |
