I wonder what would happened if a Crossed! President sends EAM alerts to all the nuclear triad. That will just be like Judgement Day in the Terminator universe.

I wonder what would happened if a Crossed! President sends EAM alerts to all the nuclear triad. That will just be like Judgement Day in the Terminator universe. If he is smart crossed that is, if lucky he will be a regular crossed. |

Wondering what happened at the Vatican since it's heavily guarded ? The virus did not spread to Mainland Europe yet. I guess the Swiss Guard would make preparations for the Pope in the case there needs to be a hasty evacuation. |

Or possibly "To a castle high up the hills on an isolated island with enough food and supplies." Preferably also with its location a very closely guarded secret.
Given the nature of the crossed, including that some stay intelligent and devious I find it very difficult to see it limited to Britain and parts of the US. There are simply too many ways for a crossed to cross the channel and start infecting the continent. Especially since their prime drive seems to be to infect others.

At this point, a Zombie alone is just a kind of a nuisance, dangerous but easily manageable. a Crossed alone is probably something extremely dangerous, considering that its goal is to infect you, it will use all methods to infect, from the most barbarous to the most sophisticated. except the massive use of weapons of mass destruction and the total destruction of all population areas (with uninfected civilians) over several hundred kilometers. I only see the "firebreak" technique as really possible, considering that most of the infected would be de facto killed by explosions, famine and thirst. I'd see them infect their bullets and knives with bodily fluids so those wounded by these would turn to a Crossed. Knifes, yes, bullets no; they're superheated via the firing so that anything on them is literally burned away. |
