For fucks sake, why were those police officers being complacent. Anyone wearing a mask or balaclava would need to be inspected. Take not chances!
I agree. Their desperate and tired but they should have been suspicious about that and also the direction the 'reinforcements' arrived from. There is the suggestion their been told that the infected aren't capable of planning and forethought but its a terrible mistake that probably means there's no chance of saving anybody in mainland Britain and a good likelihood given that one destination is Heathrow that its going to spread a lot wider - even if someone with access to a private a/c hasn't already spread it to the continent.
The moment I read that the police were wearing balaclavas, I already knew where this was going. |

If the city was crawling with Crossed, the civilians would be considered expendable. But still if i remember correctly, only Israel in the comics nuked the Middle East, So i still doubt the British government is going to nuke a city, at this point. |

In real life I think that the virus could be fairly easily containable. The main reason it succeeds in the comics is that it breaks out in every city and town worldwide within a matter of hours/days rather than a single ground zero location.
Once governments realised it was a virus they would simply lockdown the population and send in troops/police with HAZMAT suits to take the crossed down. Given how fast the virus takes over its victims it would be unlikely for any crossed to travel great distances on a plane or train or a ship as they would be quickly noticed and the vessel or aircraft taken down.
The problem often with all zombie and zombie-like fiction ( Crossed, 28 days later etc) is it requires a stunning degree of incompetence from the authorities to allow the virus to spread. I think the only real way the crossed virus would present a very serious risk to the entire human race as a whole would be if the intelligent types were not a rare as in the comics.
I do wonder if we will ever see any more Crossed comics. I think it's been maybe two or three years since the last release?

Even dumb crossed are smarter than your average regular zombies and i do not think a HAZMAT suit is going to help you, but then again in the comics we have seen super crossed using water with bodily stuff in it to infect non crossed people and such things. |

At this point, a Zombie alone is just a kind of a nuisance, dangerous but easily manageable. a Crossed alone is probably something extremely dangerous, considering that its goal is to infect you, it will use all methods to infect, from the most barbarous to the most sophisticated. except the massive use of weapons of mass destruction and the total destruction of all population areas (with uninfected civilians) over several hundred kilometers. I only see the "firebreak" technique as really possible, considering that most of the infected would be de facto killed by explosions, famine and thirst.
