Eastern Order of BattleGet a glimpse of air forces of countries in the East, from Russia, China, and Africa. Part of this content are never-before seen photos of how these air forces looked like in the 1980s-90s.

Turkic Republic Armed Forces(Note: This is an amalgam of Central Asian countries, created in-universe as part of an unsuccessful attempt to gerrymander the USSR in a way to suppress nationalism). Turkic Republic Airborne ForcesAirborne Division "Sogdia" (Samarkand) Airborne Division "Chaqmoq [Lightning]" (Tashkent) Guards Airborne Armored Division (Shelitovsk) 1st Airborne SPF Brigade (Osh) 2nd Airborne SPF Brigade (Almaty)
Airborne Forces Rear Services Command (Shelitovsk)
_ _ _ _ The Turkic Republic's "Airborne Forces" are more of a Republican/Revolutionary Guard-style parallel army than an actual paratroop force, and thus are the best trained and equipped units in its army. The centerpiece is the Guards Airborne Armored Division, a "balanced division" of two motor rifle and tank regiments each, headquartered around the fictional capital of Shelitovsk. The Sogdia Division is a fairly standard BMD-equipped one and trains the most in actual parachute operations, while the Chaqmoq division has organic tank units attached. The two SPF brigades are light infantry/spetsnaz equivalents.

1: It doesn't have Azerbaijan. 2: Turkey and the TR I'm actually making as rivals, at least initially.

Turkic Republic Army
1st Army (Astana):
2nd Motor Rifle Division (Uzunkol)
3rd Motor Rifle Division (Aktobe)
19th Tank Division (Oskemen)
_ _ _
The First Army guards the Russian border, and is the least reformed and smallest formation in the Turkic Army.
2nd Mountain Army (Tashkent)
18th Mountain Division (Almaty)
26th Motor Rifle Division (Jizzakh)
30th "Guards" Mountain Division (Termez)
38th Motor Rifle Division (Fergana)
39th Mountain Brigade (Bishkek)
_ _ _ _
Only the 39th Brigade is a true specialized mountain unit, with the rest using "mountain" primarily as an honorific. The 30th division has seen substantial action across the Afghan border, both overt and covert.
3rd Army (Ashgabat)
6th Motor Rifle Division (Ashgabat)
40th Tank Division (Mary)
27th Motor Rifle Division (Turkmenabat)
8th Motor Rifle Division (Annau)
_ _ _ _ _
Guards the border with Iran.

archives.nato.int/uploads/r/null/2/3/23563/C-M_54_96_ENG.pdfThe Special Agreement annexed to the Treaty on the Establishment of a European Defence Community. This provides us with the first numbers on the force levels for a rearmed West Germany in addition to other target force levels. Divisions are called 'groups' after the language contained in the Treaty.

Damn - already reached my limit for this month in terms of reads. Sounds interesting, although is it formal documents from the French military or a reporter saying what he interprets the French army as having.

It is quite detailed public source material from the time, without much supposition, but with some decent reflection.
