Future history sounds a good place to put them if you want to open a thread about it. Sweet, thank you. What about making a thread titled "The Future of IP Laws?" or something like that, which is pretty self-explanatory? Would such a discussion topic be okay in Future History, or is it more appropriate for Politics and Current Affairs--or some other section of the board that I haven't listed yet? Future history is okay as long as it follows the 1 year rule. |

I know it's been a month since this thread has been touched, but I nonetheless have another proposed thread to ask about. This is predicated upon the assumption that enough people on the forum have read the 2011 novel/watched the 2015 movie titled The Martian, the one featuring that stranded astronaut named Mark Watney as labors to survive on the Red Planet until NASA can do something to help him.
The actual thread I want to do surrounding this is an author-to-story ISOT that should be called "Andy Weir to The Martian?", or something similar to that anyways. Would this go in the ASB section, The Media Hub, somewhere else entirely, or might it be too frivolous to seriously and dedicatedly discuss?

It'd be a thread for conspiracy theories in general, from chemicals that supposedly "turn the freakin' frogs gay" to gigantic chunks of human history being downright faked (i.e. the Middle Ages). As long as no one promotes or expresses agreement with this wacko suppositions, is it fine to discuss them on the forum? |

It'd be a thread for conspiracy theories in general, from chemicals that supposedly "turn the freakin' frogs gay" to gigantic chunks of human history being downright faked (i.e. the Middle Ages). As long as no one promotes or expresses agreement with this wacko suppositions, is it fine to discuss them on the forum? Well i will allow it on on this condition, a disclaimer must be posted in the first post that points out clearly that this forum does not believe in conspiracy theories but will allow it as long as it are not the following which are against forum rules: Antisemitic and Islamophobic conspiracies. 9/11 truthers and conspiracies. Mass shooting theories. White genocide conspiracy theory. Holocaust and genocide denialism. |

What about a General Stock Market Thread? Considering what sort of tie-ins and tangential topics this would inevitably feature, this would likely belong in Politics and Current Affairs--assuming that it's deemed acceptable for the board to have at all.

What about a thread that asks if Venezuela could become laissez-faire capitalistic in the future, presumably as a backlash against its current economic woes? If it's acceptable on the board, would it go in Future History, Politics and Current Affairs, or perhaps somewhere else that I haven't thought of?
