How about a 'No Permian-Triassic Extinction Event' thread? Falling into the category of prehistory, I assume that the ASB board is where this scenario would belong.

How about a strictly 'Nazi Germany Vs. United States' war, with each faction at their respective primes so that one doesn't have a too-lopsided advantage over the other?

What do you mean by respective primes. If you mean including territory they control, say in end 41 or autumn 42 but opposition from opponents other than the US this might be at its height.
Even so it would have great difficulty affecting the US other than possibly by U boats or long ranged and probably one way bombing. The US has a larger technological base and isn't handicapped as the Germans are by Nazi idiotic theories. As such they will get the bomb and the way to deliver it 1st. If you exclude the bomb or any basing by one side near the other they can't really hurt each other by military means. Best you could get without nukes would be very long ranged jet bombers or missiles using chemical weapons.
If you assume say Nazi Germany - possibly including at least some conquered territory such as Bohemia, pasts of Poland and Alsace-Lorraine/Luxembourg - somehow moved so it has a common land border with the US and other powers kept totally out of it then its a bit more even and they can even fight each other in terms of ground combat. Assuming say 42/43 German forces and 44/45 American once the German will probably have the edge in training and experience but the US will have massive air power and numerical superiority in ground combat. Would assume even if you magic away oil shortages for Germany that the US would win in the end but, assuming no nukes again, its going to be bloody for both sides.

Yeah, I suppose 1943 Germany fighting 1944 America—with Germany being positioned next to the US so that a Barbarossa-style land war breaks out—could work. Of course, I’m guessing that the US ultimately wins in a contest of attrition, even if the Reich looks primed to pummel it early on. For another thread idea, how about ‘Late 1970s Reactions To 2016 And 2020’, which would also encompass the fact that Donald Trump was elected and is running again as the incumbent POTUS? I assume it’d belong in ‘Politics and Current Affairs’ at the moment, which I was thinking of inserting it into anyways. Similar can probably be said of ‘Which 2020 President Candidate(s) Would 1980 People Support?’. Obviously, I understand that they’re not all a homogenized bloc that’d make unanimous decisions collectively, but still.

How about a ‘Red States Vs. Blue States’ thread? As in, a civil war suddenly breaks out between states that have consistently voted Republican/Democratic within the last few election cycles, with “swing states” either being neutral or indeterminate in who they side with?
My guess is that it’d belong in the ASB board, for one thing.

Since it’s not very distant from our current point in time, I’m guessing that a ‘How Will President Obama Be Remembered?’ thread would belong in ‘Politics and Current Affairs’ (at least for now)?

That would be correct. Yeah, I thought so. Though I’m obviously open to discussing his legacy with others, I can already speculate how the Obama years will likely be remembered in at least the short term.

I'm thinking that a 'Libertarian GOP' thread--in which we'd discuss the ramifications of a socially liberal, fiscally conservative Republican Party with a libertarian-lite ideology--would belong in the 'After 1900' board? Or might it invoke current politics too much?
