After all, depending on the butterfly effect, chances are that Franz Joseph dies sometime between 1914 and 1920 in this scenario. Also, Yes, I think that he will already be married at age 31.

Sarajevo probably doesn't happen in this scenario due to the butterfly effect. However, some other Austro-Hungarian official might get killed by Serbian nationalists sooner or later in this scenario.

But if it is not the crown prince, would Austria still go to war about a person death not related to the Kaiser.

After all, Austria-Hungary disliked Serbian irredentism and appears to have merely used Franz Ferdinand's assassination as an excuse to invade Serbia.

Maybe the Black Hands kills the Governor of Bosnia, Oskar Potiorek as intended.

It could happen but then again he could also be close to his grandfather. I think that being close to his grandfather is more likely than being close to his grandmother. Indeed, his grandfather is going to need to teach him how to rule Austria-Hungary in this scenario! Also, though, what exactly would this son of Rudolf's have been called (as in, his name)? Any ideas? The Emperor would take an active interest in the boy from the beginning. The boy would be the future Emperor and it would be the Emperor's duty to see to the child's upbringing. Franz Joseph was a creature of duty and would attend to this one above all others. Nothing would be more important to him Franz Joseph had troubled relations with both Rudolph and Franz Ferdinand but may have had a better one with his grandson- or Max as we've been calling him. It is hard to see a worse one than Franz Joseph had with his nephew Impossible to say what political views the boy would have had. He would be 30 in 1914 and should have had a lot of say in the affairs of the Empire
