A universe i am building about a destroyed earth and the remains and humanity surviving in Space and notably on Mars.
While i have already several articles ready i always like if people have question related to the FeRm universe as i call it, thus ask any question and will try to answer them.
Martian countries
United States of Mars
Founded a in 2082, a year after the end of World War IV, the United States of Mars or for short the USM is the successor to the former United States of America. The USM for short saw its beginning in the first Ares I landing in 2027 who missions continued until 2052 by which small scientific and military bases (Fort Washington being the first) having been set up.
Fort Washington the oldest and largest of the United States of Mars cities is the capitol of the United States of Mars with several other dome cities being Braunburg, New Los Angles, Fort Lincoln, Ares City and Sagan Station.
United Martian Colonies
Made up of the former United Nations colonies of New Geneva, Haven, Freeport and Liberty City with it capitol located at New Geneva. The United Martian Colonies is the home of the Mars Assembly, the joint council of which all Mars countries are a member of and which was founded after the Martian-Moon War of 2104-2109 in which several Martian countries tried to take over control of several Lunar countries.
2nd French-Martian Republic
When world War IV ended the French colony of New Paris was forced to become an independent nation becoming the 1st French-Martian Republic. A political crisis followed by a short border war with the Mars republic of Germany in 2115 resulted in the collapse of the 1st French-Martian Republic and the establishment of the 2nd French-Martian Republic.
Mars republic of Germany
Simply known as the Mars republic of Germany (German: Mars Republik Deutschland), the former German colony of Marsheim was forced to become an independent nation after the end of the world War IV. With it capitol in the newly and specially built city of New Berlin the Mars republic of Germany is a proud country remembering its past and having some issues with its neighbor the 2nd French-Martian Republic.
United Corporate Republic
The only country that was not founded by a country on earth but by several Megacorporation’s from Europe and the United States of America.
Russian-Martian Autonomous Oblast
The Russian-Martian Autonomous Oblast which is at the time of its funding was made up of the former Russian Federation colonies of New Moscow, Gagaringrad and Poetinburg. The capitol dome of the Russian-Martian Autonomous Oblast is the dome cite of New Moscow.
United Kingdom of Great Britain and Mars
The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Mars was formerly the British Mars Territory which was a sector of Mars claimed by the then United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland. The Kingdom of United Kingdom of Great Britain and Mars is together with the Kingdom of Netherlands-Mars the only countries on Mars who are monarchy as at the outbreak of World War IV the Royal Space Navy evacuated the then King George VIII (2013-2091), his family and the majority of the British government to the safety of Fort Catherine (provisional capital until the completion of the New London dome in 2097).
The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Mars is home several cities of which the largest being Moore City, Fort Catherine, New Avalon and the capitol city of New London.
Chinese People Republic of Mars
The former People's Republic of China Martian colonies at the time of the founding of the Chinese People Republic of Mars consisted out of the dome cities of New Beijing, New Shanghai who as of 2212 are the two most populous cities on Mars with a total population of each cities being somewhere in the five million each.
Kingdom of Netherlands-Mars
A country consisting of two former Kingdom of Netherlands colonies of New Amsterdam and Fort Oranje with its capitol being located at Fort Oranje (English: Fort Orange). The Kingdom of Netherlands-Mars (Dutch: Koninkrijk der Nederlanden en Mars) is together with the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Mars a monarchy as at the outbreak of World War IV in 2081, Queen Catharina of the Netherlands (2003-2087) together with her family managed to be evacuated to Fort Oranje.
New Bombay Republic
The former Republic of India Martian colony of New Bombay. It is with New Canberra the only single city-states located on Mars.
Novo Brasil
In the year 2064, the first civilian settlers from Brazil landed near called Pontes Station (named after Marcos Pontes, the first Brazilian to go into space), the main base for the engineers and scientists charged with setting up Brazil’s first colony on Mars. By 2212, Nuevo Brasil has several dome cities of which the largest are Porto Brasil (capitol), Pontes Station and Porto Salvador.
New Canberra
New Canberra, a former Australia colony was founded in 2067 and together with the New Bombay Republic are the only single city-states located on Mars.
Amaterasu
The former Japanese colony of Amaterasu made up of several dome cities with its capitol being New Tokyo.
None-Martian countries
Freistaat Karlberg
When the then German mining company Karlberg lost contact with its parent company on earth as the result of world War IV it was left on its one, despite some attempts by the Mars Republic of Germany to adsorb the now small asteroid country the Freistaat Karlberg has manged to survive becoming a prosperous country thriving on trade and mining.
Principality of Ceres
A nationalist militarist monarchy who does not like that the countries of Mars at all due their heavy mining presence in the asteroid belt.

Orbital Stations
Wellington Orbital Station, Mars
Wellington Orbital Station is the United Kingdom of Great Britain prime geostationary orbital station above Mars and is home to most of the United Kingdom orbital shipbuilding facilities in the Sol System. It is also home to HMNB Drake the Royal Space Navy main base in the Sol System which is one of three operating bases operated by the Royal Space Navy (the others being HMNB Mountbatten and HMNB Nelson).
The base is home to the Royal Space Navy main shipyard as well as being the headquarters for the Home Fleet and majority of the Royal Space Navy fleet. The base is also home to a number of commercial activities, including shipbuilding and ship repair (operated by British Exospace); naval logistics, accommodation and messing, and personnel support functions.
Churchill Orbital Station, Mars
Churchill Orbital Station is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Mars second geostationary orbital station orbiting Mars. The station as well as being an orbital terminal and defense base (HMNB Beatty) is also the center of a constellation of orbital factories and power generation satellites.
Clark Orbital Station, Earth
Clark Orbital Station is the main United Kingdom of Great Britain and Mars geostationary orbital station orbiting the now abandoned and devastated Earth, Clark Orbital Station is also home to HMNB Mountbatten the Royal Space Navy base of which the Earth Squadron consisting of two anti-ship frigates and one cruiser operate from.
Hawking Orbital Station, Jupiter
Hawking Orbital Station is the main United Kingdom of Great Britain and Mars geostationary orbital station orbiting the planet Jupiter and is home to HMNB Nelson from which the Jupiter Squadron consisting of two anti-ship frigates and one cruiser operate from.

Home Fleet
The Royal Space Navy main fleet operates out of Her Majesty's Naval Base, HMNB Drake part of Wellington Orbital Station orbiting the planet Mars.
Earth Squadron
The Earth Squadron consists of two patrol frigates and one cruiser who operate from HMNB Mountbatten part of Clark Orbital Station orbiting Earth.
Jupiter Squadron
The Jupiter Squadron consists of two patrol frigates and one cruiser who operate from HMNB Nelson part of Hawking Orbital Station orbiting Jupiter.
Inner Sol Patrol Force
The Inner Sol Patrol Force consists of a single warship (mostly a single anti-ship frigate) stationed at HMNB Mountbatten part of Clark Orbital Station orbiting Earth. It role is to maintains a permanent presence in the Inner Sol System between Earth and Mercury in order to provide "ongoing protection and reassurance to British interests".
Outer Sol Patrol Force
The Outer Sol Patrol Force consists of a single warship (mostly a single anti-ship frigate) who maintains a permanent British presence between Jupiter and Pluto and is stationed at HMNB Drake part of Hawking Orbital Station orbiting Jupiter.
Mining Protection Squadron
The Mining Protection Squadron is a front-line squadron of the Royal Space Navy in charged with protecting the British mining industry in the Asteroid Belt located between the orbits of the planets Mars and Jupiter. The squadron, with headquarters at HMNB Nelson part of Wellington Orbital Station orbiting the planet Mars is equipped with two anti-ship frigates.
Fleet Ready Escort
The Fleet Ready Escort (FRE) is a single warship maintained at high-readiness for deployment at short notice anywhere in the Sol System and consists of either a cruiser ore an anti-ship frigate.
Partnerships on Mars and across the Sol System
The Royal Space Navy remains committed to working with its partners on Mars ore around the Sol System. The principle purpose of these partnerships is to reassure friendly nations either on Mars or across the Sol System to share intelligence and expertise, to build trust and ultimately provide security across the Sol System. Examples of such Partnerships of which the Royal Space Navy plays a leading role include; the joint Anglo-Netherlands Combined Expeditionary Force (CEF) and the Mars Treaty Organization (consist of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Mars, United States of Mars and the Kingdom of Netherlands-Mars).
Response Force Task Group
The Response Force Task Group (RFTG) is the Royal Space Navy's expeditionary task force maintained at high-readiness and available at short notice to respond to unexpected events in the Sol System. In addition to war-fighting or planetary landing operations, the RFTG can undertake a diverse range of activities such as evacuation operations or humanitarian aid. The composition of the RFTG changes depending on its task and the range of available assets. However, it generally consists of several large troop transport ships (both Royal Space Navy and Royal Space Navy's Auxiliary), fleet battle ships, cruisers, fleet escort destroyers, anti-ship frigates and replenishment ships from the Royal Space Navy's Auxiliary.

French Aerospace Force of 2212
The French Aerospace Force (French: Armée de Aérospatiale), literally "Army of the Aerospace ") is the aerospace force of the French-Martian Armed Forces. It was formed in 2022 as the Aerospace Command (French: Commandement des forces Aérospatiale), a service arm of the French Air Force, then was made an independent military arm in 2054.
The French Aerospace Force controlled all space ships until the creation of the French-Mars Space Navy (French: Marine Spatiale Francaise-Mars) in 2067 when the French Aerospace Force became solely focus on protecting then French territory on Earth and later on Mars.
Structure
The Minister of Defense is responsible for execution of military policy. He is advised by the Chief of Staff of the Armies (CEMA) in regard to the use of forces and the control of military operations. The Chief of Staff of the French Aerospace Force (CEMAA) determines the aerospace force doctrines and advises the CEMA how to deploy French aerospace assets. He is responsible for the preparation and logistic support of the aerospace force. The CEMAA is assisted by the aerospace force staff and by its subordinate services. Finally, the CEMAA is assisted by the inspection of the aerospace force (IAA) and by the aerospace force health service inspection (ISSAA).
Strategic Aerospace Command
The Strategic Aerospace Command (French: Commandement des forces Aérospatiale stratégiques, CoFAS) is a command of the French Aerospace Force. It was created in 1964 when its predecessor the Strategic Air Forces Command (Commandement des forces aérienne stratégiques, CoFAS) was created before it in 2055 became the Strategic Aerospace Command.
Strategic Aerospace Command is responsible for operating the nuclear weapons in use with the French Aerospace Force and together with the French-Mars Space Navy who operates its nuclear weapons aboard it large spaceships (cruisers and batleschips) and the French Army who operates missile silos located in the French territories on Mars it forms the triad of space, aerospace and land-based nuclear weapons intended for dissuasion, the French term for deterrence.
Air Defence and Aerospace Operations Command (CDAOA)
Air Defence and Aerospace Operations Command (French: Commandement de la défense aériennes et des opérations Aérospatiale) is the overall command responsible for all Aerospace operations in peacetime serving the public, for the defense of the French-Martian airspace and for all offensive and defensive air operations at war. CDAOA is based in New Paris and plans and executes all aerospace operations.
Command of Aerospace Forces (CFA)
The Command of Aerospace Forces (French: Commandement des forces aérospatiale, CFA) is located in New Paris and is responsible for ensuring and to maintain the operational condition of all branches of the aerospace force. The CFA consists of several fighter, air defense squadrons, electronic warfare squadrons and simulator and instruction centers. It has aerospace bases in Mars and on the Moon. The command is divided into:
Aerospace Brigade Fighter Command (French: Brigade aérospatiale de l'aviation de chasse, BAAC) is responsible for all conventional combat and Aerospace defense aircraft.
Aerospace Brigade of Assistance and Projection (French: Brigade aérospatiale d'appui et de projection, BAAP) is responsible for all transport and liaison aircraft.
Aerospace brigade Space Control (French: Brigade aérospatiale de contrôle de l'espace) is responsible for aerospace assets and terrestrial (radar located on the ground and in space, ground-air defense systems and missile and communication networks).
Security and Protection Forces Command (French: Brigade aérienne des forces de sécurité et d'intervention, BAFSI) is responsible for the operational readiness and the deployment of all base protecting squadrons, emergency services and the Fusiliers Commandos de Aérospatiale (French for "Fusilier commandos of the aerospace").
Aerospace Training Command (CEAA)
The Aerospace Training Command (Commandement des Écoles Armée de Aérospatiale, CEAA) is responsible for training all new aerospace personnel as well as on the technical and on the job training of the other aerospace personnel, as well as the officers and NCO training. CEAA is also responsible for all schools and training facilities.

Royal Space Navy’s Auxiliary (2212)
The Royal Space Navy Auxiliary (RSNA) is a civilian-manned fleet owned by the United Kingdom of Mars Ministry of Defense. The RSNA enables ships of the Royal Space Navy to maintain operations around the Sol System. Its primary role is to supply the Royal Space Navy with ammunition and supplies, normally by replenishment in space (RIS). It also transports Army and Royal Marine personnel as well as supporting training exercises and engaging in anti-piracy operations.
History
The RSNA was first established in 2055 to support ships for the Royal Space Navy (established in 2051). The RSNA firstly became heavily relied on by the Royal Space Navy during World War IV (2080-2081), when the Royal Space Navy fleet was often far from available bases (Earth orbit and Mars orbit). World War IV also saw space ships staying away from their basses for much longer periods than had been the case since the earlier days of space travel. Techniques of Replenishment In Space (RIS) were developed. The auxiliary fleet comprised a diverse collection, with not only RFA ships, but also commissioned warships and merchantmen as well. The need for the fleet to be maintained was unambiguously demonstrated by World War IV.
After 2081, the RSNA became the Royal Space Navy's main source of support in the many conflicts that the Royal Space Navy was involved in.
Fleet
Ships in the RSNA service carry the ship prefix RSA, standing for Royal Space Auxiliary. Most RSA ships are armed, typically with self-defense systems.
The most important role provided by the RSA is replenishment in space (RIS), therefore the mainstay of the current RSA fleet are the replenishment ships consisting of the Amazon-class, Lough Neagh-class and the Fort Catherine-class who primarily provide replenishment (food and ammunition) to Royal Space Navy ships. The Amazon, Lough Neagh and the Fort Catherine-class have generous shuttle facilities, providing shuttle support and training facilities. They are capable of operating and supporting several shuttles (transport and combat variants). The presence of shuttle facilities on RSA ships allows for them to be used as 'force multipliers' for the task groups they support in line with Royal Space Navy doctrine.
The RSNA does not only operate replenishment ships but also other classes like the Hephaestus-class frigate tender and the Nightingale-class hospital ship. Both of these ships are the only once in their class. The RSNA is also tasked with the role of supporting Royal Navy orbital landing operations through four Gibraltar-class orbital landing ships (OLS).

Unified Combatant Command
A Unified Combatant Command (UCC) is a United States of Mars Department of Defense command that is composed of the three forces (United States of Mars Aerospace Force, United States of Mars Marine Corps and United States of Mars Space Force) and has a broad and continuing mission. These commands are established to provide effective command and control of United States military forces, regardless of branch of service, in peace and war. They are organized either on a planetary basis (known as " Zone of Responsibility ", ZOR) or on a functional basis, such as special operations, power projection, or transport.
Mars Command
United States of Mars Command (USMARSCOM or MARSCOM) is a Unified Combatant Command (UCC) of the United States of Mars Department of Defense. MARSCOM is based at Fort Washington SFB, Mars and zone of Responsibility (ZOR) includes Mars and all space stations like the Mars Orbital Defense Station and shipyards orbiting Mars like the Hellas Planitia construction yard and New Los Angles construction yard.
Earth Command
Earth Command (AERTHCOM) is based at Glenn Station at L-4 in Earth’s orbit which is a massive spherical construction which has extensive docking, logistics, and repair facilities. This base is the headquarters of Earth Command. The United States of Mars Space Force also operates in Earth orbit and that around Luna a considerable vessel construction industry with the largest of the shipyards being the Goddard construction yard, owned by the USMSF, but operated by Boeing Defense and Space.
Numerous facilities located on Luna are also under the command of Earth Command. Some of them are located near Tranquility colony, one of two United States of Mars main Luna colonies and the location of Armstrong Space Force Base (SFB) a United States of Mars Aerospace Force base who also operates as a United States of Mars Marine Corps (USMC) training facility and a survival school for all the three services crews and pilots, the base is also one of two major stores for the United States of Mars Aerospace Force, United States of Mars Marine Corps and United States of Mars Space Force ordinance and vehicles for deployment to locations across the Solar system.
Jupiter Command
Jupiter Command (JUPCOM) is a Unified Combatant Command of the United States Of Mars Armed Forces, headquartered at Jupiter Station, Jupiter.
United States Special Operations Command
The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM or SOCOM) is the Unified Combatant Command charged with overseeing the various Special Operations Component Commands of the United States of Mars Aerospace Force, United States of Mars Marine Corps and United States of Mars Space Force.
United States Space Mobility Command
The United States Transportation Command (USMOBCOM) is a unified commands of the United States of Mars Department of Defense. The mission of USMOBCOM is to provide the capability to deliver people and cargo anywhere around the Sol System in a matter of days. Spacecraft assets of the command include: C-57 Titans and the C-64 Atlas IIs.

you mean a base in orbit around Jupiter rather than one in its atmosphere? I would suspect that any such bases would be fairly distant from the planet, both to avoid being too deep in its gravity well and minimise the impact of its intense magnetic field. Suspect that the assorted powers with bases around Jupiter might use some of the outer moons. [Not the Galilean ones as I suspect their too close to Jupiter but what are probably captured asteroids.]

British Royal Aerospace Force (2212)
Organization
The Royal Aerospace Force (RAF) is the successor to the Royal Air Force which ceased to exist after the end of World War IV in 2081. The RAF of 2212 is divided into two main elements, the regular RAF and the Auxiliary Royal Aerospace Force (ARAF), a voluntary reserve formation. The RAF is operationally divided into a series of Commands, each of which has a specific function. Fighter Command is responsible for the protection of the airspace of the British territory located on Mars, Bomber Command for strategic force projection and Defense Command is responsible for defending RAF basses and installations with the RAF Regiment and is in charge of operating the ground based Anti-Space and Air Weapons (ASAW) System. Support Command includes heavy airlift, tanker support and general support to RAF operations around Mars. Training Command is responsible for all flight training and includes some miscellaneous functions.
Fighter Command
Fighter Command operates in support of the RAF's main role. The defense of the airspace of the British territory located on Mars. Fighter Command is responsible for maintaining the integrity of the United Kingdom's air space on Mars using two main fighters types, the Comet F.5 fighter and the space capable Starfire SF.2 fighter.
Eagle eyes AEW. 1s, a United States bought early warning plane directs the interceptors, whilst tankers from Transport Command provide air-to-air refueling. The Comets and Starfires have a secondary anti-space role, being able to launch orbital interdiction weaponry. Fighter Command also has static long range Anti-Space missiles and laser squadrons which can tackle a range of threats including missile attacks and orbital strikes. Fighter Command can be reinforced by aircraft belonging to the Fleet Space Arm of the Royal Space Navy. The latter is routine when Carrier Space Wings from either the three Ark royal-class fleet carriers or Orbital Station Wings who operate out of one of the three orbital stations are back at Fleet Space Arm basses on Mars.
Bomber Command
Bomber Command is in charge of the providing strategic force projection around Mars. Bomber Command aircraft carry a range of munitions from conventional cruise missiles to tactical nuclear devices. In addition Bomber Command has limit space capacity allowing it to conduct bombing missions and strategic reconnaissance in space.
The sole aircraft in service with Bomber Command is the Valkyrie SB.2., Bomber Command also uses modified Valkyrie bombers who are designated as Valkyrie SB(PR).2 for photographic reconnaissance and Valkyrie SR.2 for electronic and signals intelligence gathering purposes.
Support Command
Support Command is the command that supports the RAF with a range of services. The bulk of the force is dedicated to airlift of British forces across the planet Mars, this is done with both the Atlas C.3 Strategic and tactical transport aircraft and the bigger joint designed British-United States SCT (Strategic Cargo Transporter) Hercules II who provide the RAF with the capacity for transporting men and equipment. Support Command also is also in charge of the RAF tanker fleet and VIP transport where they transport both the royal family to members of the government and senior military officers from all three services.
Training Command
Training Command is the RAF's command responsible for flying and ground training. The command uses the Comet T.4 for aerial training and the Spacehawk 400 space training (the Spacehawk 400 is also used by the Fleet Space Arm of the Royal Space Navy).
Defense Command
Defense Command is responsible for the defense of RAF bases and operating the Anti-Space and Air Weapons (ASAW) System, both of which are done primarily by airman-soldiers of the RAF Regiment and reservists of the Auxiliary Royal Aerospace Force (AuxRAF) Regiment.

The Valiant-class of ships were developed in the 2170s as part of the fleet build up in response to the increased tensions between the Chinese People Republic of Mars and the Russian-Martian Autonomous Oblast which would eventually lead to the 2nd Elysium Planitia War (2183-2185). The prime concern at the time was to replace the Mars-class battle ships (HMS Mars and HMS Jupiter) and the Prince of Wales-class fleet battle ships (HMS Prince of Wales and HMS Princess Royal) that were unable to perform their designated role (both classes where development and build in the 2150s). Although designated as 'battle ships or 'BB's' in most reference works the British refer to the Valliant’s as 'Fleet Battle Ships'. This reflects their role as being the main fighting units within a squadron or larger fleet grouping. It is their job to close with and destroy the enemy and they will rarely be given detached duty tasking’s.
The four ships of the Valiant-class were designed and constructed by British Exospace at their facilities on Wellington Station orbiting Mars. The lessons of the four strong Nelson-Class have been incorporated into their successors, the Queen Elizabeth III-class fleet battle ships and the Britannia-class fast fleet battle ships.

Can't hardly wait for the next part . Between 2027 and 2081 space travel developed so much that people could immigrate in large numbers to Mars. and why is there stations in Orbit of Jupiter ? Jupiter has more than 67 moons, many are in one way ore another used by one of the major powers. |

I get that you are establishing a pre-WW2 situation on Mars, but wouldn't it be more logical for there to be a number of EU colonies on Mars instead of several nationalities?
