I get that you are establishing a pre-WW2 situation on Mars, but wouldn't it be more logical for there to be a number of EU colonies on Mars instead of several nationalities? The EU after World War III ceased to exist, after World War III it was every country for themselves.

Also, given that interstellar travel had become cheaper by the time WWIV rolled around, wouldn't it just be efficent to just rely on asteroids and the colonies for resources instead of fighting a war over what was left on Earth?

There are two asteroid countries (Principality of Ceres and Freistaat Karlberg), also there are dozen of independent mining companies operating in the asteroid belt not affiliated with any of the powers.

You didn't answer my question though: why did everyone og to war over resources when the Solar system contains more then we consume in a hundred years? And that is not even taking into account the advancement of recycling Technology.)

Sorry, my fault, Earth was damaged severely before, during World War III and after, the planet was dying, those countries who could wanted as much under their control as possible in order to deny it to their enemy's.

Corps of Royal Space Marines (2212)
The Corps of Royal Space Marines (RSM) is the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Mars interplanetary light infantry force, forming part of the Her Majesty's Space Naval Service, along with the Royal Space Navy. The Royal Space Marines were formed in 2053, two years after the formation of the Royal Space Navy and as of 2212 are used as a highly specialized and adaptable light infantry force, trained for rapid deployment and capable of dealing with a wide range of threats across the Sol system.
The Royal Space Marines are organised into the 1st Landing Regiment "Duke of York" (two battalions), 6th Commando Regiment (two battalions), Fleet Protection Group Royal Space Marines, Special Planetary Service (SPS) and the Logistic Regiment Royal Space Marines. The Corps operates in all possible situations from space combat to planetary landing operations, though particular expertise and training is spent on landing operations.
Personal
The Royal Space Marines are part of the Her Majesty's Space Naval Service and under the full command of Fleet Commander operating out of Wellington Orbital Station, Mars. The rank structure of the corps is similar to that of the British Army with officers and other ranks recruited and initially trained separately from other naval personnel.
Formation and structure
The overall head of the Royal Space Marines is Her Majesty Queen Victoria II, in her role as Commander-in-Chief of the British Armed Forces. Full Command of the Royal Space Marines is vested in the Fleet Commander (FLTCDR) with the Commandeer Royal Space Marines, a major-general, embedded within the Navy Command Headquarters (NCHQ) as Commander UKM Landing Force (COMUKMLANDFOR).
The operational capability of the corps comprises of two regiments consisting of two battalion each and a number of battalion-plus sized units:
1st Landing Regiment "Duke of York", based at Wellington Orbital Station, Mars.
6th Commando Regiment, based at Wellington Orbital Station, Mars.
Fleet Protection Group Royal Space Marines, based at Wellington Orbital Station, Mars.
Logistic Regiment Royal Space Marines, based at Wellington Orbital Station, Mars
Independent elements
- Space Marines Training Centre: This is the training unit for the entire corps, and consists of three separate sections:
Space Marines Training Wing: This is the initial basic commando training section for new recruits to the Royal Space Marines.
Specialist Wing: This provides specialist training in the various trades which Marines may elect to join once qualified and experienced in a Rifle Company.
Command Wing: This provides command training for both officers and NCOs of the Royal Space Marines.
- 1 Assault Group Royal Space Marines: Provides training in the use of transport and shuttle craft, and also serves as a parent unit for the four assault squadrons permanently embarked on the Royal Space Navy’s Auxiliary orbital landing ships.
11 Assault Squadron— RSA Gibraltar.
22 Assault Squadron— RSA Montserrat.
33 Assault Squadron— RSA Bermuda.
44 Assault Squadron— RSA Anguilla.

Digging around some old documents i found this, it is not complete, maybe i will do that when i have time but for now here is New Canberra Defense Force.
New Canberra Defense Force
The New Canberra Defense Force or for short the NCDF is the military arm of the New Canberra government. Formed in 2089, eight years after the end of World War IV by the former Australian Defense Force (ADF), the New Canberra Defense Force has final responsibility for ensuring the defense of New Canberra territory on Mars and her interests across the Sol System. The NCDF is a unified military force that makes no distinction between soldiers, airmen and spacemen. While New Canberra is a single city state located on Mars and not a Solar power like the United States of Mars or the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Mars it has still space capability of such capacity to be able to defend and to show the New Canberra flag across the Sol System.
Adelaide-class space frigate
In late 2200, the NCDF issued a request for tenders for a new class of space frigate to replace the six old Barcoo-class space frigates (named after former rivers in Australia) who formed the core of the New Canberra Defense Force space capability. Of the bids received, the Adelaide-class designed by British Exospace, proved most suitable. An initial order for six ships was ordered. The first ship, Adelaide, was laid down in November 2201 and commissioned in March of 2202. The last of the six Adelaide-class was delivered in 2209.
