Nap III is busy in Mexico but the Germans have just see the Danes obliterating their Armies in a WEEK! The beast up North is a Cobra! Prussia lost hwy equipment for 1/5 - 1/4 of its Army (can't find the specifics right now 12 or 19 Corps). Austria lost less but also deployed less. Enough for any uttering by Nap III to be considered very real despite his engagement in Mexico.
Napoleon III might want to talk with the French ambassador to Denmark in 1940 who i have the say has one of the best looking Embassy in Denmark. Thing is the Austrians and Prussians have just been clubbed - the Russians are still mired in the Polish morass which Nap III declared himself a defender of 1863 - the British wants trade to rule as does the Danes. The USA is pretty much minding its own as are China and Japan.
Guess the French Ambassador to Copenhagen trying to tell Mr. Bonaparte that would be seen as an offence.. OTOH Nap III took quite nicely to our Frederick VII (married to a Commoner Madam Rasmussen) where nobody else made themselves available.
That House is really splendid on the inside BTW

Edit P5 - identified the Thailand Consular-General to Denmark 1940 Kingdom of Thailand Royal Consulate-General in the Kingdom of Denmark Minister Plenipotentiary Phra Manu-vejvimolnat (Pien Sumawongsa).
May seem unimportant but Denmark and Thailand have a long history together at least since 1851 when Danes assisted in the modernization of Thailand. East Asiatic Company was actually founded to run trade with Thailand and a Danish Navy Officer Andreas du Plessis de Richelieu was the Royal Thai Navy Commander 1899-1902.
Just have determine besides trade (Tin, Kopra) what else is going to happen.

London 4 March 1864
Opening Conference Lord Russel asked the Prussian delegate on the position of Prussia on the issue of the fief of South Schleswig. The delegate v. Bernstorff was happy to inform Lord Russel that his Prussian Majesty King William had given his accept of the Danish proposition. His Prussian Majesty had for some years been accomodating Duke Friedrich within Prussia and would be happy to see the Duke attain his fief.
First issue settled the Conference moved on to the question of Blockade. Danish Foreign Minister P. Munch informed the powers that Denmark was dependent on trade mostly so shipborne and in the present situation was to some extend blockaded as it wanted new trade to flourish. As such Denmark had no intentions of impeding any trade upon sealanes – looking at Lord Russel – and would willingly abstain from such upon the German ports if the ceasefire would remain in effect. Any breach of the ceasefire would be seen as hostilities against Denmark which Denmark isn't in a state to accept and will react to with all force available.
(Prussian and Austrian delegates pale)
However – as the German States had accepted the Danish solution to the Schleswig-Holstein – Saxe-Lauenburg Issue which also would accomodate the German Confederation of an Independent State member of the GC – Denmark would for the duration of the ceasefire and untill the signing of the Peace Treaty not effect a Navy Blockade of the German Ports.
Lord Russel looked around the table giving the French delegate a slightly longer look than the rest and then invited all for lunch.
Following lunch the German States brought up the issue of Prisoners of War; Denmark was very forthcoming having almost no such being held by the German States. Austria and Prussia on the other hand had wanted their some 50,000 troops held Prisoner of War in Denmark back. Denmark rejected any demands of reposessing any spoils of War. The Prussian delegate had asked of this though hadn't specified what items would be wanted.
The Danish delegation informed the German States that the captured equipment might be used for arming the future Independent South Schleswig-Holstein – Saxe-Lauenburg Army. No infringement on such allocations would be tolerated.
The Danish delegation did offer to partake in talks to exchange Prisoners of War chaired by a British or Swedish General. It also offered that RN units would control that no blockade be instituted on German ports following the signing of the Cease-fire instrument.
Finally the conditions for a Peace conference was taken to Protocol for such to convene when Prisoners of War had been exchanged and the Cease-fire observed to last.

I would suspect it would be largely modeled on the 1940 army as its going to be in the front line against any new attack. Unless there are concerns either on the loyalty of a number of people there or fear of technology or just weapons leaking to the German nations, especially probably Prussia.
Mind you since the principality will be part of the German Confederation it's likely to be drawn into any German civil war - possibly also pulling Denmark in to defend it. Which could make a hell of a difference in any equivalent to an 1866 scenario - which isn't impossible given the tension between Prussia and Austria despite the removal of Bismarck. Its probably going to happen a few years latter but I suspect there will be a clash at some point.
Also come to think of it if no defeat for Austria in 1866 what happens in the relations with Hungary? Could the empire avoid the establishment of the Dual Monarchy, which might make it more successful in the following decades, despite its other problems and the conservatism of Franz Joseph?

Off my head - and looking at the 1813 TO&E there was one Schleswig (Infantry) Regiment, a Light (Rifle/Jäger) Half-Regiment and a Cavalry Regiment. Same for Holstein. Saxe-Lauenburg by 1864 had one weak Infantry Regiment probably no more than one Battalion - 1864 only 2 Companies were mobilized and dissolved before the German advanced into the Duchy.

It won't be Denmark that draw up the TO&E of that state - supply of former Prussian and Austrian equipment will be effected intially Artillery and Rifled Muskets. I have other plans for the Prussian Dreyse Guns..
Denmark won't be wanting to be drawn into a new war - sit on the fence if possible but of course move into South Schleswig part if required.
Have done some thought on Austria - guess the Austrians will continue ruling Hungary from Vienna. Then there's the question of the Czech's! May make for some interesting stuff. No 1866 possible no Ausgleich and less Hungarian self-rule which is my initial position.

Copenhagen PM's office 11 May 1940/ 4 March 1864
PM Stauning greeted his guest A.P. Møller, shipping magnate and armsdealer.
PM Stauning: ”Dear A.P. Møller thank you for taking some time out Your calender”
A.P. Møller: ”I don't expect You to just inviting me for pleasantries?”
PM Stauning: ”Indeed not; so far we haven't had any reason to interfere with Your arms deals but please notify us if You at any other time is going to supply some warring party with Machineguns.”
A.P. Møller: ”Well You didn't interfere with our sales to Russia or Germany during the Great War – why this caution.”
PM Stauning: ”No we did not – we were living in a known world. Russo-Japanese War a world away and then we had to stay on good terms with Imperial Germany to get supplies of mainly coal as You well remember.. This is another world that live by other rules. I just like to know what is going on so I know if there's some issues to stay clear of.”
A.P. Møller: ”Well – that sounds fair. I just want to see the USA we know thrive and if possible put an end to the slaughter over there. At least shorten the War so we may get on to rebuilding whats been destroyed and we will be able to have our society work as we want it.”
PM Stauning: ”Good. Anyway it is going to be another USA – they won't get the Danish influx from Schleswig this time around. I don't mind this if it will help us get out of the crisis with lack of imports to keep industry going and refill the Treasury.”
A.P. Møller: ”Refill the Treasury – well that remark was a deliberate.”
PM Stauning: ”I miss 13,75 tons of Bouillon and 8 tons of Coin; Director of National Bank Bramsnæs is doing what he can to refill the vault.”
A.P. Møller: ”So there really isn't backing for an exchange of notes to gold? I see; thats why You ordered any tax incurred from trade in the 1864 World be paid in Gold or Silver.. Hmm, makes sense.. If You don't block my sales to the USA I'm not gonna let this out – if You do I won't feel obliged..”
PM Stauning: ”Fine I expected that. Just remember even the Conservatives and Liberals if in power will need to do just the same.... You know the Army is wanting a new Rifle and other stuff. The Navy wants more ships. We have to adapt to this world we've ended up in. Not only do have to patrol the Northatlantic but also the Caribbean. I understand You get paid to some degree in metals by the USA?”
A.P. Møller: ”Well I need those to keep production up and running. I understand the Army and Navy will work with Bofors for new Artillery – could You do something about the Norwegian sulpur, manganese, iron ore and copper? I really need that – so does the Forces and I am the major supplier for them in arms.”
PM Stauning: ”I'll notify the Procurement Commission of Your being let in on its daily work – guess You have somebody to fill a seat?”
A.P. Møller: ”Thank you for your direct approach. My son Arnold need to get into the real world of finance and trade – I'll let him prove his worth. Will let the finance department contact the Treasury about the payment of US deals in Gold and Silver. Could anybody of the Army Technical Division forward what they are wanting? We might as well get going – that way we may sell off some of the old Army equipment. Guess there's lots of costumers out there. By the way the Austrian Government have inquired about bolt-action rifles – would any warbooty be up for sale?”
PM Stauning: ”I'll ask MoD Christmas Møller to get in touch with You about that – think he said something about storing 25,000 Prussian Rifles..”

Very much and getting Industry and Shipping into the basket - remember those and Socialdemocratic Party had been main opponents regarding wages and workers rights since the founding of said party. That was to some extend also true in the 1914 ISOT but at that Stauning was just the Party chairman - here he is PM. Some difference in perspective. Stauning in some way have to balance the forces bordering on Denmarks to survive this. 25,000 Dreyse guns may not seem much but if the Riflesyndicate/Madsen works would do some magic upon them like making them gas-tight and not prone to fouling - well it would be another situation.
The Danish Army want to get rid of the Kragh-Jørgensen's; worn out they should have been replace long ago. Madsen have a replacement up and coming - the Light Infantry Rifle:
But an Army Gunsmith Bang had by 1911 been tinkering with an Automatic which he tried sell to the US Army - though perhaps with some tinkering:

Not the Rifle - Submachineguns were being introduced. Besides this there had been made contracts for 9 more Armoured Cars from Landsverk, Sweden, 12 Macchi 200 Fighter Aircraft for the Navy Airarm besides 12 Fairey P4/34 Observation/Attack Aircraft also for the Navy. The Army were building at least 12 probably 24/36 (sources differ) Fokker G-1 Aircraft but hadn't secured the necessary number of engines...
