I take it you mean if as a result there's a Chernobyl type disaster, although probably smaller in total fall-out levels? Going to make a mess and likely be politically divisive I would suspect.

With tributaries like Ukraine, Belarus (what the Poles leave independent), Baltic States, Mega Finland and an assortment of White and Red Russian Republics and a very chaotic Caucasus? Would certainly leave its imprint on the World without a victorious USSR. The Workers Unions having lost guidance!

'AHC: George W. Bush Successfully Impeached'. The 25 Amendment (Amd.) §1 states “In case of removal of the President from office or of his death or resignation, the Vice President shall become President” George W Bush’s (43) Vice President was Richard “Dick” Bruce Cheney.
The 22 Amd. §1 states “No person shall be elected to the office of the President more than twice, and no person who has held the office of President, or acted as President, for more than two years of a term to which some other person was elected President shall be elected to the office of the President more than once. But this Article shall not apply to any person holding the office of President when this Article was proposed by the Congress, and shall not prevent any person who may be holding the office of President, or acting as President, during the term within which this Article becomes operative from holding the office of President or acting as President during the remainder of such term.”
25 Amd. shows Cheney would assume the Office of the President and in accordance with 22 Amd. if 43 is impeached in the later part of his term (2006/2007) then Cheney will be eligible to run for President and serve two terms.
The 25 Amd. also does not indicate if a twice elected President is prohibited from holding Office, such as Speaker of the House of Representatives or any other position mentioned in the Succession Act i.e. Officers who can serve as President.
In my opinion Cheney would be a “placeholder” and would be removed by Obama in 2008. |
