An ASB who *really* likes the now unused first stanza of the German national anthem, teleports the territory from the Meuse river (west of Germany) to the Nemen river (east of Poland) and
from the Adige river (Italian border) to the Belt (the sea near Denmark) from 6AM Berlin time, July 2, 1922 to 6AM Berlin time, July 2, 1982.

Hmm, it relates to 1841 so it must be the LilleBelt between Jutland and Fyn thats about as LilleBelt wash parts of Schleswig in the East which is mentioned in Schleswig-Holstein Meerumschlungen/S-H Leid as performed 1844 as the Belt at the Eastern beach. Quite narrow though; of course Danes quite fond of Italian cuisine though if its the more substantial Alpen kind it may not be that well received; just saying.

So an interesting 1962 - few days before missile crisis - Soviet ships at sea or having reached Cuba? 1) Sink them - 1923 Sovietunion doesn't know what's going on and US doesn't want them to have their nukes back and 1923 SU in no position to retaliate 2) Blast Cube to smithereens Either way Pax Americana restored - now let's find Adolph and get him outta this world - oh yeah, Musso too - aaaaand a zillion other European/World issues - decolonization - etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc. etc.
Of course if You go by geographical Europe it will be even more fun with Sibirian Soviet republics of 1962 but severed links to Moskow - at least their Moskow.

Looked up the Cuban Missile Crisis - seems as early as 10 August 1962 CIA was certain the Sovietunion constructing SAM sites that was to defend Ballistic Missiles; so when do we reckon the Missile Crisis to start: 10. August 1962 - building SAM sites; 14. October 1962 - U-2 aircraft photograph assembly of a SS-4 MRBM; 16. October 1962 - pres. Kennedy being briefed on the situation; 22. October 1962 - Kennedy's TV-broadcast?
Edit: I actually find the situation rather interesting and may borrow the idea if ok?
