I wonder what would happen if the other planets in our solar system were made of cheese instead? The Sun would still remain its fiery yellow star of a self though, to avoid instigating a mass death scenario by riding Earth of its vital stellar light source. I am not making fun of you or the Op
the first thing that came to mind was a deathstar made of cheese
with rick moraniss from spaceballs this would make a fun comedy
...How would a Death Star made of cheese work, though? |

Anyways, 'Abe Lincoln Gains Superman's Durability Just Before John Wilkes Booth Shoots Him'. Honest Abe could've also lived had Booth missed or been stopped ahead of time; no need to become as tough as the machine gun volley-tanking Man of Steel. |

This would sure spell catastrophe for humans and currently existent ecosystems alike. Plus, there's the question of which time periods' species get brought back from the dead to wreck havoc on the living.

You mean all Dinosaurs, yes that is going to be chaos, and a lot of Dinosaurs killing as we are forced to kill them in order to survive.
Couldn't have literally all dinosaurs that existed at some point over their ~120 million years of existence as they would probably end up about 3-4 layers deep and everything would be swamped.
Also if those at sea also come back its going to be total chaos with them clashing with maritime mammals, current sharks and the like. Think there were some very, very big predators about during that period.
Probably the only way to do it would be to have all dinos from a single particular point coming back, so say with that of the sauropods, or part of the T Rex period or some other. Still going to be very chaotic and a lot of the dinos would be affected by drastic climatic and geographic changes. For instance Britain and parts of western Europe may escape fairly well as at [some parts of] the time the region was in the centre of the great Pangaea super-contient and by most beliefs a barren desert. Also with much lower CO2 levels and hence a cooler climate - presuming its still our atmosphere - and with the fact many of the continents have moved since then a lot of dinos are in for a shock. Wouldn't give much for those who suddenly find themselves in Antarctic for instance.

But I was unspecific about which period, i.e. Triassic, Jurassic or Cretaceous. There are also sections within those time blocs, but I don't want to over-complicate things at this time of day. |

Alternate timelines- Gain the telepaths from b5 abilities
Discord group (mostly centerest)- Gain the Vulcan races Abilities
Independent website (older vets) - Gain the Skrull Races Abilities
Facebook group of A$$halfs (they have a rule if you report content you get booted... lol) - gain Kryptonian Races Abilities

'All People Voluntarily Stop Drinking Alcohol'. This would suck for that specific industry and tangentially related economic activities, but maybe wind up strongly beneficial for society in the long run.

Would there be withdrawal symptoms or any tendency to replace alcohol with another drug or react to its loss? If not generally greatly beneficial for a lot of people especially probably for those in families with one or more alcoholic adults. Plus a lot better for societies in terms of reduced stress on medical systems due to no drunken drivers and the like and in the longer term a lot less liver damage etc.

Good points. I suppose that this scenario should be amended to include no withdrawal symptoms or urge to obtain replacement drugs, since the hope is that society benefits from ASB alcohol intervention. The businesses that sell the stuff would be livid and probably panicked, no doubt. But what could they do, aside from perhaps change their products? |
