At least, i think, they used the Shuguang (spacecraft) which started in late 1960s and early 1970s instead of OTL current Shenzhou (spacecraft).

so i wonder what happen to China are they planning a their own Space Program then Japan would followed suit too. Mentioned in 1987 China opens its first lunar base.I assume this base is established on the Soviet controlled part of Luna. This is why I hate the idea that the Moon was cut in half like that. The Moon belongs to all of us. The idea that the Moon could be cut in half like this sets a bad precedent for the other bodies in Sol. What happens after Mars has been an established population? Will we crave it into smaller states? At some point this has to be answered. I just hope that whatever that answer is makes sense.

Here are some good pictures of Jamestown as of 1995. Unless I missed something I'm fairly sure the year as of episode two is 1992. The mission to Mars is 1995. That is still like 2-3 years down the road.

They just colored the entire South America and Central America red with our checking some would not become communist, example being French Guayana.

They just colored the entire South America and Central America red with our checking some would not become communist, example being French Guayana. No they have done more then merely color it red. They have fundamentally changed the policies of the United States in the 1990s. There is no way this will not have an effect on what the US does in the 1990s. South America and Central America are our backyard in many ways. If we allow the Soviets this much say on policies we are setting ourselves to fail. Mexico is right next to us. Hell in some places the only thing keeping us apart is a river. A river mind that people cross on the daily. It wouldn't take much to have a few of those be spies. In season two we nearly had a war. In season three we have even more reason to be ready for war. An attack from the south is a real possibility here. I'm unsure what the showrunners are trying here but it has to pay off in a major way. Something has to happen in response to the communization of the Americas. If we go this whole season and nothing happens to deal with this I feel like this show is just mashing ideas together without any real plan on doing anything worthwhile with those ideas.

Episode 3 of Season 3 was good. While I would agree that it was good episode. I would also say I feel bad for the people working at NASA. They keep losing their people because the pay is so much better with those other guys. I get being loyal to the woman who helped her get to the Moon but 7$ an hour working 12+ hours is slave pay. I would leave them too with that much work for that little of money. I'm happy that we finally had the time jump so we can get to Mars in episode 4. Mars is where all the fun will be at this season and to know that we'll finally see Mars in a week is great. The three way race has started and I hope we have something happen while heading for Mars. It would be dull if we just jumped past the trip to Mars. There is weeks worth of time to use. They would be fools to just not make use of that in some way. Also isn't the delay 20 minutes each way? How is it 8 minutes here? Did the showrunners make an error here? Because it sure does sound like they did. I would have to rewatch that bit again but I'm fairly sure Ed said 8 minutes which while close isn't right.
