I definitely recommend the new film 'Midway'. Best portrayal of the Pearl Harbor attack on screen, excellent aerial combat and detailed rendering of smaller pieces such as the Marshall Islands Raid.

Yes, that is covered, with a bit of a Chinese angle supplied due to the role of a Chinese production company.
There is more time spent on the Marshalls and Coral Sea, which provides some buildup of context.

Most certainly, as it is a very big market. However, it did not overcome the whole story.
As a piece of cinema and as an exercise in plot development, it worked.
