That would be a good place for a city destroyer to hand above. If the government had time to relocate, they'd go to Baguio which nearer to Manila. Baguio hosts the former USAF base of Camp John Hay near an airport and the Philippine Military Academy which could be used a temporary AFP headquarters. Another alternative location would be Cebu which is the second largest city in the Philippines, has a second official residence for the President, an international airport with a PAF airbase next to it, an Army base which serves as the Central Command for the AFP in the Visayas and Mindanao, a commercial seaport, and two major police headquarters. that would also be my next question, with Manila destroyed, what city would be the new capital of the country. Also in the movie the aliens attacked air basses across the world, so i assume that Philippine Military locations would also be targeted. Am i right that in 1996 the 6th Tactical Fighter Squadron (Cobras) of the 5th Fighter Wing located at Cesar Basa Air Base and would be equipped with F-5s.

Yep, Basa Air Base in Pampanga and Mactan Air Base in Cebu has the F-5s. A significant portion of these would have been lost when Villamor was destroyed with the rest of the capital. It does not mention what other locations are being targeted but we can compare it to a nuclear war where military centers, industrial centers, power plants, and other resources would be equally targeted. I wrote a fanfic of the Philippines set in Independence Day back then in 2017 and at the time of this writing, I forgot the aliens would not attack other cities and bases with smaller craft. althistory.fandom.com/wiki/User_blog:Gillan1220/Philippines_(ID:_War_of_1996)

I could see to that. If MCAS El Toro and Yuma were attacked, I could see nearby California bases such Beale AFB, Vandenburg AFB, Edwards AFB, and NAS San Diego being attacked. I discounted the fact the aliens would target Basa AB, Mactan AB, and other cities. The smaller fighters would have neutralized military bases far from the cities.

It was also mentioned in the movie that the Vice President, the Cabinet, the Joint Chiefs of Staff, their advisers and families were evacuated from Washington, D.C. to NORAD but which was destroyed after the first failed attack against the City Destroyers, most likely by Attackers as they are called and which i read one single City Destroyer can carry 500 of.

I think it would be more wise to disperse the cabinet and the JCS rather than staying in one location.

Well i doubt they would think that the aliens could have weapons that could penetrate the mountain that NORAD lies in. Now i do not know if it was a City Destroyer that destroyed NORAD ore a wave of Attackers, but i go with the City Destroyer.

The City Destroyer's blast wave could penetrate deep underground that even the bunker beneath the White House and the NORAD HQ would be directly be stabbed. The smaller attack craft lasers do not seem to penetrate deeper.

True, as the aliens would have a list of targets thanks to the 50 years of recon they would know what to hit in order to weaken humanity defenses.

I would agree. Even if they didn't know the alien capacity the fact their able to bring a large invasion fleet through interstellar space would suggest a much higher level of technology that would mean you need to allow for such a capacity and hence make sure all your eggs weren't in one basket.

I'm really confused as to why Pittsburgh, Denver, or Seattle would be attacked before Houston and way before Dallas, although I am happy that I would of survived if this where real...
Anyway, with DC and 14 other major US cities gone, I think the new American capital might be Dallas. It's a large inland city, with a fast growing population, and compared to the other fourth wave cities, it's really no competition. Especially with a Southern president (Bill Clinton) and no other real Southern cities.
Additionally, does anyone no where "Republique Nationale" is? I can't find where it is in the DRC.

That list is insane. It must have been drawn up by someone in a hurry. I think the city is fictional, leading to a tie in with the second movie. I did my own list - 41 City Destroyers - for my own Independence Day story. The list (revised recently) is here: alternate-timelines.proboards.com/thread/3407/tliafd-peashooters-dreadnought?page=3&scrollTo=108933

Sadly, on this list, I'm dead. Good work.
