Does anyone know how big the wave of destruction was from the city destroyers in the film Independence Day?
I mean in terms of size per target: how far out from the point of impact di the fireball go?
Was it mentioned in the film?

That list above is something to ignore too. It's totally silly and written for the piece of trash which was the second film: Liverpool and Belfast instead of Manchester in the UK / Monaco gone after when Turin is still standing in northern Italy etc. |

It's totally silly and written for the piece of trash which was the second film: Liverpool and Belfast instead of Manchester in the UK / Monaco gone after when Turin is still standing in northern Italy etc. Do not think the aliens make any difference about the cities they targeted, they where going to destroy them all anyway. In the movies the White House was center and when Airforce One took of from Edwards Airforce base the wave was still going, so that would give us a indication on the size of the wave. |

Since Manila was destroyed, the rest of the metro and nearby rural towns are gone too. I used nukemap to simulate the damage.

With the destruction of the capital, it would also ensure the destruction of Congress, Supreme Court, the Central Bank, Camp Aguinaldo (HQ of the AFP), Camp Crame (HQ of the PNP), the international airport with Villamor Air Base nearby, the commercial seaport, and numerous government offices in the area. |

That would be a good place for a city destroyer to hand above. If the government had time to relocate, they'd go to Baguio which nearer to Manila. Baguio hosts the former USAF base of Camp John Hay near an airport and the Philippine Military Academy which could be used a temporary AFP headquarters. Another alternative location would be Cebu which is the second largest city in the Philippines, has a second official residence for the President, an international airport with a PAF airbase next to it, an Army base which serves as the Central Command for the AFP in the Visayas and Mindanao, a commercial seaport, and two major police headquarters. |
