Ok so the USS Arkansas just stops World War III when they intercepted the Russian coup attempt against the Russian President. U.S. Navy SEALs also rescue the Russian President and to the eyes of the hardliners, this is massive weakness in the eyes to the West.
Of course the civilian leadership is more reasonable than the military hardliners. The Russian President is grateful towards the Americans for rescuing him and ensuring world peace.
What will be the political aftermath of this in U.S-Russia relations and how will the remaining hardliners be sought out.

Either this will be hush up quickly ore the United States will give the captain of the USS Arkansas the Medal of Honor.

I'd suspect that president wouldn't last very long once the Americans have gone home. He has just emasculated the Motherland - directly, indirectly, it doesn't matter - and the organs of state will not stand for that. Whether by a bullet or a stuffed ballot box, they will get rid of him. Otherwise the whole house of cards will come down.

If it ever gets public that is, a Russian naval base is not known to be public places, especially that one that where the events of the film took place.

Even if that is true, it couldn't be something that could be allowed to stand. There are many important people in Russia, even if things were a little different, say like they were in the 90s, who wouldn't allow any president who had to be saved like that to be the one representing their nation. They would know, that is what would matter. The secret arms of the state in Russia, even during the bad days on the 90s, are a real force and have some serious ideas of how national strength should be shown.

Well as the USS Arkansas is not in commission yet until 2023 i think the movie is placed in the future.

Also we know how the Russians these days try to hide things, if it is something like a coup and only happening on a naval base, then i do not see it spreading, unless somebody reports it from the american side.

Americans saving the Russian President from the coup would not look good to the hardliners. In fact, it will just add fuel to their agenda.
Plus, I guess the captain of the Arkansas will have to answer why a Russian admiral was given access to the CIC on the submarine. Sure, the Russian admiral was a good guy, but to the eyes of the Pentagon he is a potential adversary that may spill the beans of secret American technology to the Russians.

I think the hardliners who are still out there and who supported defense minister, Admiral Dmitriy Durov will lay low for a while as i surely think President Nikolai Zakarin is going to do some house cleaning.

So we might see some form of purge going on. The captain of the Russian destroyer Yevchenko was conspiring with the coup plotters but had a change of heart in the last second.

The captain of the Russian destroyer was convinced to stand down since the Russian President directly addressed him and would charge him with treason if fired on the Arkansas. The crew were probably unaware the captain was in league of the coup plotters. I guess the captain wanted to save his own skin or had a change of heart so he turned on the Defense Minister instead.

With some cruise missiles, no better way to defect to the other side than to level your former coup plotters.

I'm guessing starting from there, the U.S. and Russia would start how to normalize relations once more.
