In general, the Great War in space is similar to a combination between operations in Africa in our WW1 and the Seven Years' War in India and North America - essentially independent wars conducted by limited colonial forces without optimal means of communication and often with rather less sophisticated weapons and equipment. On the moons, the Germans were wrapped up fairly quickly. (German Pacific islands) On Mars, the news of war did not reach the various colonial holdings until August 1915, after which time there was a lengthy campaign that only ended in May 1918. (East Africa) On Venus, the German holdings were less sophisticated and were rolled up fairly quickly. (West Africa) So no German space raiding like OTL SMS Emden famous raiding campaign on Earth.

They did, but it was lost in the war and transferred in the Treaty of Versailles.
Now that could really put them on the back foot in terms of WWII as their denied any real access to the high ground unless they managed to get some extra-terrestrial territory before war starts. Its bloody difficult getting off Earth, especially a so much larger one, when your enemy has extensive bases in the moons to operate from.
In terms of your other post was there no reliable radio or other form of transmission that news of the war took a year to reach Mars?
Thanks
Steve

Lordroel, there were no space raiders in that manner in the First World War, but rather converted merchant vessels serving as auxiliary cruisers.
Steve, it was a particular point of disagreement for all German political parties after the war. There was some German civilian/mercantile return to space in the interwar period, but not of the same extent as pre-WW1; they had bigger fish to fry.
Interplanetary communications were still going through their teething stage in 1910-1914, with the major British relay station on Luna destroyed by a German raid in the opening days of the war. Interplanetary radio communication would take until the 1920s to be reliable, given the strange effects of the aetheric currents, and even then, wasn't fully effective until the introduction of satellites.

The asteroid belt was a bit too far away from not just Earth but the interplanetary trade routes in the circumstances of the First World War. More detail of the expansion of the Earthly empires through the Solar System will come out in the last few parts of Space: The New Frontier, but to put it briefly, they do not reach out to the asteroid belt in any significant way until the 1930s.

Dam, so no Space Imperial Germans, well we have to do with Space Nazis then.

There are still settlements of Imperial German loyalists on Mars, as the lack of the overthrow of the German monarchy allows for quite a few interesting developments. A parallel could be German emigre settlements in South America.

That sounds interesting, does the current German government have plans to absorb those settlements in the future, if they are allowed to do that.

They mostly lie in the territory of various sovereign Martian states, so it wouldn’t be a viable proposition.

They are in the war for longer and fight in 1916 and 1917 much more heavily. Even then, they suffer 0.14% deaths as a percentage of population, compared to 0.13% historically.

Yes, Britain has fewer in raw numbers, as does France, Russia, Austria-Hungary and Italy. Germany is roughly even and the Turks are much better off.
