Well if its the same date, i.e. 14/8/60 I get to meet my mum again and celebrate my 1st birthday next month.  In fact my gran is still alive at this time.
Your going to have a significant increase in population with many having acute cultural and social shock with the loss of many facilities we're used to and where the hell are we going to live?

Well that will be bloody. Stalin has lost a lot of his forward based forces but won't accept the loss of his eastern European satellites. 2012 EU has much better forces quality wise but relatively few in number and he probably won't realise the potential issues, especially with the British and French nuclear forces and what tactical ones the US will have in Europe. Coupled with the ongoing Korean war your likely to see WWIII although its going to be bad for the communists once the nukes start flying. Although if the US tries to depose Mao in China it could be bloody.
Once that's over you have all the usual problems of a ISOT with the EU isolated from a lot of important suppliers, which might make it even more obsessed with control and centralisation. Plus going to be a lot of social conflict, especially with down-times in the European empires and with the US probably over their 'to the uptimers' outdated attitudes.

The first main caveat here is that the a slew of 1988 states and the White House occupants and staff all get sent back to January 1968. The second is that due to the butterflies that’d ensue, there’s no guarantee that Hubert Humphrey will become the nominee (meaning that with his assassination thwarted ahead of time, Robert Kennedy now stands a chance).

If you're referring to them becoming much more well-rounded and prone to making more cultural, scientific and likely also economic contributions to Greece, then I'd agree. Their military will suffer a dip in manpower during the short term, but that frees lots of them up to make many of those contributions I talked about earlier. |

Actually it could make them significantly more powerful. Instead of a small militaristic elite you could have full membership of the society for the helots. Which if it stays strongly bound to a military life style could mean a hell of a lot more Spartan hoplites. Imagine what might have happened at Thermopylae if say there had been 30,000 Spartans! [Before anyone says I know there were only 300 for political reasons. ]
Of course if it keeps its very strict military emphasis its likely to lose out in other ways with an impoverished culture and very little trade and commerce.
