On today's WWI thread where it says:
That "Hungarians" at the start seems a bit out of place. Also I'm a bit surprised that the Italians are stepping up their bombardment of the Castelletto immediately before detonating the mine. Would suspect this would be a good reason for the Austrians, since their heard the mine activity, to get a lot of their men out. Unless they think the Italians might be trying to bluff them? Also I wonder if they considered counter-mining operations, although possibly the structure of the location makes it impractical. There's no WWII post yet. Hopefully just been delayed by events but just in case its slipped your mind. Steve
First, the Hungarian matter related to your post stevep , seems the trolls have forgotten to put it in its own section, will edit it. Second, related to the WW II update, i am waiting until the release of World War II in Realtime on YouTube before i release it, that is why Saturdays, the WW II update will be several hours later than the regular updates true the rest of the week.
OK thanks for the quick clarification.

No problem, i could release the WW II update on Saturday at the same time as the WW I update but then those who read it will miss the WW II in Real Time update that is in the WW II daily update here.

On today's WWII post you have the long ranged bomber attack on Danzig twice. First under "Air War over Europe" then a shorter bit about it under the "Battle of the Baltic Sea".

On today's WWI post with the mention of Romania
This may have been a missed opportunity. Possibly a willingness to accept Romanian desires and a quick Romanian offensive against an Austria still reeling from Brusilov offensive might have proved a lot more effective and especially have saved Romania from its OTL fate. Which was not only bad for them but also for the Russians as it further lengthened the line they had to defend. With the allied forces in Salonika as a threat to Bulgaria and a southern border largely along the lower Danube I doubt that Bulgaria would have posed a great threat to Romania.
Also
I initially misread this as Ness and couldn't resist the image of an encounter between a U boat and Nessie.
Steve
PS Talking of water hopefully your OK and able to return to an undamaged home soon.

With the last bit of todays's WWI post is part of it missing. I.e.
I'm assuming all 4 ships were sunk but if it was by a U boat commanded by Forstmann he had a very successful day. It also mentions the Grangemoor was captured and then sunk by deck gun but whether the others were sunk similarly or by torpedoes or mines? Assuming this is know of course as they might have had no survivors in some cases so no details of how they were killed.
Just above that it sounds like a very successful day for the RFC winning several battles against more numerous German a/c.
On the WWII post
Interesting as I have heard before of problems with the Australian dockers and the US forces but didn't realise there were issues in New Zealand as well.

Have added the missing part of the submarine, it is Walter Forstmann, commanding U-39.

lordroel , On today's WWI post about treatment of conscientious objector the problem I have with them is moral. Their willing to put their desires and ego ahead of the needs of everybody else. Talking here about people who refuse to fight under any circumstances rather than say in a particular conflict which they have arguments that that particular war is unjust or immoral. In which case a lot depends on the circumstances.

While it was hard in the United Kingdom, i think those in Germany had it harder: Life was even tougher for the German conscientious objectors of World War I

In reference to today's WWI post: Just to check your aware that until 1925 Christiana was the name for Oslo?
On yesterday's WWII post - didn't read it until this morning.
Much better day for the allies. Good to see the U boats taking a pounding. - Although they have more success the following day.
Also
That takes some nerve especially for MacArthur as it was his plan to withdraw into Bataan not Wainright's!

Regarding Christiana in the World War I update, will add Oslo to it. About MacArthur, MacArthur is MacArthur and he thinks only about him and his image, blaming others for his failure and preventing others from getting glory he thinks belong to him, is what he can do best.
