A couple of small issues with the WWII thread today. a) You have one picture for the eastern front titled "Photo: Russia, tanks and soldiers on street" but their actually on a country road with wheat-fields either side. It seems the troll in charge of selecting the picture trusted the words from Wikipedia more than what he saw, will edit it.

lordroel ,
A couple of small comments: a) WWI - I wasn't aware of any jungle in SW Africa as I thought it was largely barren desert. Presumably some on the northern verges bordering Angola.
b) WWII - It does seem strange with massive success just about everywhere else that the Germans are struggling so much to make progress in the very north. At this time of the year cold shouldn't be a great problem but it could be that a lot of the area is marshy in summer with permafrost melting somewhat and the forests, as the Soviets found a year or so bad make progress difficult.
You continue to provide a steady stream of new jewels of information. Many thanks.

OK a bit of deciduous forest in the extreme NE of the region, although it might have been more extensive a century ago. Thanks.

So i have decided with a heavy hard to make Anglo-Zanzibar War of 1896 and United States invasion of Grenada 1983 - Operation Urgent Fury in realtime the last two small realtime war i am going to do for a while as i cannot find a war that is short wich is detailed enough for a day by day acount.
This means that in 2021, the Great War and the Second World War will be the only two realtime projects i will keep doing.

You really need fairly recent - so plenty of info is available - and short wars. If you haven't done them already and are eager for more how about a) Suez crisis of 1956, b) Hungarian uprising of 1956 c) The Football War of 1969 - see Football_War, although it was only about 100 hours long. d) Possibly Spanish civil war 1936-39 - although that might be a bit too long. - Possibly medium term when the WWI thread is over - if your not sick of the general concept by then. e) Irish civil war - 28 June 1922 – 24 May 1923. h) The Uganda_Tanzania_War which lead to the overthrow of Idi Amen, October 1978 until June 1979, although whether you can get a day by day account of that?
Probably a few others but the 1st ones that come to mind, if you are interested in new ideas.

B,C and E are nice picks, the Football War might be a good choice, if i can find the day for day events for it.

lordroel , Not that you can do anything about it other than possibly make a comment but there is an error in the video linked with today's WWI post. It mentions an increase in conscription in Canada but it wasn't introduced until 1917 in Canada. See Conscription_Crisis_of_1917 for some details.

lordroel , A couple of small comments on today's WWII post:
a) You have:
Pretty certain this should be AG North given the areas mentioned and that the next paragraph is also titled for AGC but does refer to details in that area.
b) Good to see that the top Soviet agent in Germany is starting to undermine the German war machine. What you seriously thought Hitler wasn't a KGB plant.
c) "British 3597-ton tanker Pegasus hits a mine and sinks at Beirut Harbor. This is a friendly-fire incident, as it is a British mine." - Obviously the ship wasn't fitted with IFF.

In today's WWII post.
Suspect this should have a uniforms following it?
On the next paragraph interesting and successful introduction of Stalin's organs i.e. the Katyushas. Assuming their use wasn't too close to the ammunition trains they wished to recapture else its likely there would have been a very big set of bangs indeed.
I notice the comments on the Continuation War section differ from what you posted elsewhere today. Wonder if to a degree Dietl is seeking to blame his allies for his lack of success?
Not a good milestone but much worse to come.
Ironic that the war between the British and French is ended by an armistice named after a French saint - who fought the English - at a barracks named after an Englishman.

lordroel , Just catching up with yesterday's WWII post and love the start of the video with Indy's chaotic phone activity. However very interesting details on how overstretch was already causing huge problems and the losses the Germans were suffering were making choices vital, even assuming there was a 'correct' choice that would give them victory.
A bit surprised it was only now that Britain recognised the Czech government in exile.
Notice Stalin touching on his favourite delusion of sending much of the British army on a suicide mission to have a minimal distraction for the Germans. Simply was no-where near the resources for such an attempt in this time period but when your an autocratic dictator its easy to make decisions like this.

lordroel ,
As to today's WWII post.
a) See the RAF are continuing with costly attacks on targets in western Europe.
b) I think there is a typo in
I suspect this should be that the demand for the missionaries to leave Korea be dropped?
