Well there's always the Rise and Fall of the Roman Empire. That would keep you busy for a while. Seriously catching up on yesterday's WWII day by day I noticed that Churchill takes a break from ordering attacks everywhere to demand that the Iraqi oil fields be destroyed before their captured even as British forces are closing in on Baghdad to conclude the war! Also on the video mention of the Paris Protocols which have also come up for discussion on a naval history thread. Many thanks again for all the good work you put in on those threads.
I am already trying, but not sure if it works to get the US Civil War in Realtime, it will start if i get enough info on April 2021, i work on getting at least a couple of months of post in order to make sure that i have daily events for each day/
Ouch that would be a big commitment, even if you only start with the actual fighting at Fort Sumter. Wouldn't it be better to wait until the WWI thread is over as that would give you three big and long wars to keep up to date with?

Well it is one major realtime project i like to to, as i have said, i have no longer any other project except World War I and II going after November with the end of the US navy today and i already start to work on the Civil War i think i can create several moths word of updates. But i will see how far i can go with working on it, it is still a project in development stage and i also would love to be able to post it on the CivlilWartalk forum if i am allowed to do that.

True forgot you were on there. You can only ask. I would expect given how knowledgeable and also how some people have very strong divergent views on the USCW you might get a lot of comments regardless of what you post. Might need a thread for the actual day to day comments and a discussion thread where people will argue over what's been said.

Just to check the mention of Bahran in the WWI thread is nothing to do with the island in the Persian Gulf, especially since its mentioned as being on the Tigris river. [The island and a couple of other places in Iran and Pakistan have the name Bahrain but Wiki doesn't seem to have anything on Bahran without the "i", I'm referring to the section:
Sounds like the allies were lucky here in terms of the attack yesterday breaking enemy morale, although it leads to a nasty disaster in the longer run.

lordroel , Comment in today's WWII day by day
Jews have been in Iraq/Mesopotamia far longer than that, even if you exclude the so called Babylonian captivity. I would expect at least since the destruction of the 2nd temple in the Siege of Jerusalem in 73AD and the resulting dispersal of the Jewish population across the empire and beyond it.
Suspect the prime reasons would be that extrene groups want to hit out at someone after their defeat and the Jews are vulnerable. Also given the growth of Jewish settlement in Palestine and the resulting religious tensions, not least due to bigots like the Grand Mufti antisemitism in the Arab world is becoming more prominent.

On today's WWII entry you twice mention that Vichy France allows the Germans the use of Bizerte for non-military supply. As I think I mentioned a few days back use of Tunisia came up in a discussion on a naval board. What is your source for this please? Had heard of something like this before but didn't know any source.
Interesting comments on the Hitler-Mussolini talk, especially the suggestion that Mussolini didn't tell Ciano about the German plans for Barbarossa, unless it was a case that Ciano 'corrected' his diary at some later point to make it look like he wasn't in the loop possibly?
Never heard of this before but think the decision was the correct one. Handing the island over to a Greek government in exile, or even allowing them to operate from there would probably seriously alienate Ankara. Probably not enough for them to join the Axis but it wouldn't be a good move diplomatically for Britain.

Will fix it and make it in one entry only, thanks for spotting it, seems you are doing better work then the trolls who proof read it.

Is it possible to know your source please? As I said this relates to an issue that came up on the naval board - can't remember exactly which thread and also has been of interest to me in the past.
Thanks

lordroel ,
That forced a chuckle. I never considered what the assorted micro states in Europe did during the conflict. Assumed San Marino just stayed neutral as its technically an independent state.
This was my fear as well reading just before about how the Ottoman forces were crumbling. Plus like you knowing what's to come. Never good to hold an opponent in contempt.

I was only looking to locate the references about the Paris Accords already presented. However while there are some interesting facts being displayed in this and the WWI thread there's little in terms of the broad details that I don't know.
