Not read the books or seen the series but that looks a real mess. So there's been a coup by religious extremists which leaves a lot of the country devastated by war and insurrection, not to mention use of tactical nukes. A government in exile in the west, some degree of limited conflict with Canada!, a potential NATO intervention and growing internal opposition. Hopefully the Gilead dictatorship wouldn't last much longer and will go out with a whimper rather than a bang. Seems also been made into a movie in the 1990s: The Handmaid's Tale (film)

So, this is a map of Gilead from episode 23 of The Handmaid's Tale, looking at it, you can see that blue is under Gilead control, pink is under military control, yellow is the colonies and dark red is controlled by rebels, foreign powers or follows the US gov-in-exile.
Well that seems to suggest that Gilead has control, of some degree, over a lot more of the OTL US than the previous one as the rebel controlled areas are now restricted to fringes in the west and south. Although rebels/Canada might have more land in the Great Lakes and New England area which puts them a bit closer to the Gilead heartland.
My eyes aren't up to reading the text on the map but don't know if anyone can do any better?

According to a episode the British Army is in Canada and they and the Canadian Army where conducting border training which some believe is in support of the US army who is loyal to the US Government-in-exile in Anchorage.

Interesting stuff. I wonder what a similar map of the UK would look like? (Then again, a lot of our place names haven't changed spelling - even though they *have* changed pronunciation. For example, 'Frome' is pronounced 'Froom' now .

Good point. I think Somaliland and Sahrawi are still in de facto existence and there is continued unrest in the English speaking part of Cameroon but not sure about the rest. Most of them were defunct by 2018 but there could have been a few more popping up.
In terms of states that have actually gained independence from others since the end of the colonial period I think there are only three I'm aware of Namibia, Eritrea and South Sudan.

Colin Trevorrow reveals 'Jurassic World Dominion' map of the United States overrun by dinosaursAmerica has a little dinosaur infestation problem in Jurassic World Dominion. How bad is this prehistoric predicament? Director and co-writer Colin Trevorrow made it quite plain with a nifty map of all the once-extinct animals now running loose across the United States in the upcoming blockbuster (out in theaters this June). "It's a problem," tweeted the filmmaker, who co-wrote Dominion's screenplay alongside Emily Carmichael (Pacific Rim: Uprising). The good news is that if you live on the East Coast, you don't have much to worry about. The dinosaurs are mainly spread out over the western half of the country (probably because they're cold-blooded and need warmer climates to survive). California residents, though, we hate to report it doesn't look promising to make it a day dino-free. If you are a resident of Alaska, we recommend you don't venture near the water anytime soon because the Mosasaurus has been spotted in the Bering Sea.
