Okay, although my spinoff would be around 2018 of the timeline I'm constructing, not OTL 2018. Sorry for the confusion. If people who are current now are in it, it is current, if not it can go in After 1900.

Been a while since I've posted here, but since others have chimed in: how about a 'Future of Augustine's Laws' thread? (See here for a brief summary of what they are.) More specifically, I'd like to discuss the future of his 16th law, which basically states that the costs of new military aircraft grows exponentially with time (making them more and more expensive, the more technologically advanced they are). Personally, I can imagine circumstances where that wouldn't hold for much longer, though I'm not sure where the best place to elaborate would be?

Think Politics and Current Affairs is the best place to put it in.

He definitely seems to have a clear view of modern management, most noticeably in law 13.
In terms of law 16 it will force some sort of change - providing it comes before major social collapse. Current events in Ukraine for instance suggest a big possible role for drones in many ways in which are replacing some aircraft roles. Plus part of the problem with the current system is that regulations and mismanagement, in governments, military and producers are considerably increasing the time and costs of production and in a crisis, such as a major war, its likely that a lot of this would be cleared out quite a lot.

How about ‘ATL Political And Ideological Spectrums’?
IOTL, we’ve developed the “left-wing vs. right-wing, liberal vs. conservative” dichotomy and frame all our issues in those terms, but I’m curious about ATL scenarios where the political spectrum operates within an entirely different framework: polytheism vs. monotheism, technology vs. Luddism, diversity vs. homogeneity, the list goes on.

Quite frankly, that’s a disconnect that makes even less sense than Neo-Nazis existing in Western nations.

I'm found an interesting video on the plans of the Gulf oil states, including Saudi, by Economics explained which looks critically at the actions of most of them as failures. However not sure where to put it. There was a short thread for the Saudis in the politics and current affairs but its about 2-3 years old so would it be OK to revive that? It looks as much at the other gulf states as well so not totally accurate. If its any help the video is below.
Thanks.

OK thanks. I thought it would be OK in the politics and current affairs section but just wanted to check.
