Thank you. How about ‘1963 JFK SI To 1933 FDR’? The ASB board.

Thank you. How about ‘1963 JFK SI To 1933 FDR’? The ASB board. I thought so. I would’ve put it there anyway, but was wondering if I suggested too many SI scenarios at this point (specifically in the ‘Miscellaneous, Non-Frivolous ASB Ideas’ thread).

Well just post them there, if there is interest in them then i can always say to you if you want to create a one thread for it.

So long as I'm asking about ASB scenarios, though--and in this case, perhaps it betrays my unfamiliarity with the era I'm about to bring up here--how about a 'Lasting Bourbon Democracy' thread? That is, the post-Civil War US adopts more classically liberal policies of laissez-faire capitalism, opposition to tariffs in favor of free trade, and avid support for the gold standard? Assuming that he's elected in this alternate TL, perhaps real-life Bourbons like Grover Cleveland would become the standard bearer for this form of governance (and as such, more well-known--even lionized--due to how much longer that paradigm would last for). Perhaps the US would emerge from prolonged Bourbon Democratic leadership as more politically libertarian than IOTL, though now I'm prattling on about it in the wrong thread.

I’m guessing the same would apply to ‘Semi-Pleasant Gilded Age’, as I’m unsure if there exist plausible ways to reduce the dominance of plutocratic monopolies and make life much less miserable for those on the bottom?

Well, thank you. Originally, I wasn’t aiming to snag 97K for myself. But seeing as fate presented me with the perfect opportunity, I thought it wasteful not to take it. The rest, as you know, is history.

As an idea inspired by an AH.com thread with this premise, what about a 'Political Leanings of Fictional Characters' thread? I assume that 'Politics and Current Affairs' is the best place for that, due to the--ahem--overtly political nature of such a discussion.

Depends what Fictional Characters you want to discuses, present, yes that would be in the Politics and Current Affairs, those Fictional Characters who live in the past can be in The Media Fandom Hub .

I'm talking about fictional characters from all eras and fictional settings. In which case, I take it that 'Politics and Current Affairs' is the place to add that thread?

How about a 'Global Geopolitical Paradigm Throughout This Century' thread? Since it's mainly concerned with political trends and dynamics over the coming decades, somewhere like 'Future History' makes the most sense at first glance. But because of how political it might be, I'm wonder if 'Politics and Current Affairs' would be a more suitable spot for it?
