All
I met this game on another site a couple of weeks back and looked good. Think it has also been on the AH site. Had a word with Lordroel and after some delay started up an opening challenge here. Hope people enjoy it.
Identify the POD
Rules for the challenge.
1) Each challenge will start with a single individual being ISOTed to a location in the present day.
2) The ISOT will be so clear that there is no doubt what's happened, i.e. they won't be assumed to be insane. Similarly the subject will not assume that the people interviewing him were responsible for kidnapping them so will be helpful rather than hostile/mistrustful. Also it is assumed that translators will be available so language should not be a great problem.
3) The poster of the scenario will make his 1st post in bold, to highlight the start of the game. They will give details of the person ISOTed and any personal possessions.
4) Players can then ask questions which the IOSTed character will answer as truthfully as they can, as they may not be knowledgeable on certain subjects. Up to 4 questions per person per post but not more than that before the person setting the scenario replies.
5) When the POD is discovered, or the posting player decides that its not going to be identified they will tell the players so, in another post that will be embolden to highlight it.
6) When one game is over 1st choice to start a new one will be with the player who identified the POD but if they don't want to anybody else can volunteer to start one.
7) All comments will be considered in character unless with a clear OOC [out of character] marking. This can be used by the scenario poster to possibly give hints if they think the players need it or for players to raise points/give feedback, or simply for general chat.
If any queries please let me know.

First POD Challenge
On a bright afternoon a disk of light, about 2.5m in diameter, positioned vertically appears in Trafalgar Square and a man is seen to stagger through and collapse. The police quickly respond and take him into custody.
He is found to be unconscious but otherwise in good health and shortly afterwards wakes up and starts talking to people in English. He is in his mid-20's, Caucasian and about 1.85m high. His personal effects include some money, which suggests a decimal currency and does seem to be 'British' but instead of the queen displays pictures of a young man with the title George VIII. He has a day return rail ticket from Peterborough and some credit cards as well as a mobile phone. They look similar to our world's but the mobile phone doesn't pick up any signals and the bank card refers to the Anglia and East Midlands Bank. A holdall has some personal effects and clothing.
After a day or so in medical care he is released for the authorities to ask questions on where he came from. His name is Matthew Harper.
OOC please ask questions and I will try and answer as best I can. Have drafted a rough TL for the background world.

A – Since 1992 after the death of his father.
OOC - Just to say that just because Mathew appeared in London you should not assume the POD is British related.

A- Yes I'm British, born in Peterborough, in 1994.
OOC: - Sorry I thought I replied to this a while back but obviously had some problem.

So you are British, having been born in Peterborough and your current monarch is George VIII, so have you been ever in other countries before your arrival here.

A – Well I've been on a few holidays. Visited Malta once, although I suppose that doesn't count, but mainly to Greece as one of my great grandparents came from there.

Lordroel and all OOC: Just to say you can ask more than one question at a time although I would ask not more than 3-4 at once from each questioner. Otherwise it could be a fairly slow progress. Had assumed this was realised but possibly not so will add to the starting conditions. Anyone else interested in having a go? Hoped a few of your would find it a good challenge.

Your bank seems to be called Anglia and East Midlands Bank, is it a major bank in your universe and also what service provider does your mobile phone use.

Its one of a number of important regional banks. Not one of the very big ones like the Midlands, Nat West, Barclays or Lloyds but a reliable local bank that is well liked in my area.
My mobile I largely use for calls and some open-net communications. Also mapping applications and a few games.
OOC: - Basically I'm assuming no big bang in the city and centralisation of the financial system. Nothing really to do with the POD but just wishing we didn't have the current fiscal disaster that leads to so much corruption and waste. Ditto with Thatcherism in general.
With mobile phones I don't have one myself so making the above up as I go along, as might be perfectly obvious.
On either point I'm afraid you're barking up the wrong alley. Possibly if you look up the reply to your question about him visiting other countries? Or ask more general questions about his world?

So coming back to the question regarding your visit to Malta, would Malta be part of the United Kingdom by any change.

A – Yes it was accepted into the union, sometime in the 1960's I think and sends 3MPs to Parliament.

The United Kingdom of course. You have Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Malta and Singapore as full members. Sarawak and Iceland are associate members but haven't yet gone for full representation.
OOC: Those are side effects of the original POD but keep asking and you should get closer.
Breaking for tea now. Which check again in about 30 minutes if your eager enough.
