What is this Union you speak about. The United Kingdom of course. You have Great Britain, Northern Ireland, Malta and Singapore as full members. Sarawak and Iceland are associate members but haven't yet gone for full representation. OOC: Those are side effects of the original POD but keep asking and you should get closer. Breaking for tea now. Which check again in about 30 minutes if your eager enough.
So the British never left Iceland, did this happen in 1940 when the British first arrived in Iceland.

A – I don't know the details too much but as I understand it the problem was the Soviet occupation of Denmark in 45. Think Iceland may have been considered for independence but given the level of tension it asked for protection. Just like Britain established a protectorate over the Faroes. Their also part of the UK as well, with the other two northern islands. OOC: - Well that confirms the POD is pre-46 at least. The occupation of Denmark is a fringe factor from the original POD as it led to differences in WWII compared to OTL.
PS Damn! I don't know if what's left of my mind is going or what. That's the 2nd time I had a reply written and was sure I posted it but it wasn't here??? Apologies about the slow response.

A – Yes he was their leader during WWII. OOC: There were some substantial butterflies resulting by/during WWII but the initial POD was a bit earlier. Try checking on where Mr Harper has been on holiday.

Going back to your vacation in Malta, was it ever invaded by the Germans.

A- No it was under some limited attack, by air and by blockade. Especially before Libya was liberated but never actually invaded by either German or Italian.
OOC: - Getting colder I'm afraid. Try where else he has been on holiday.
