The 40 Year Old Virgin and Hacksaw Ridge. I saw these both over the weekend. I was apprehensive about each, especially the first. They were well done. The battle scenes in the second film were quite something to see. I have seen Hacksaw Ridge as well, a good movie it was. I wonder what Desmond Doss himself would've thought, had he lived to watch that movie about him.

There were historical interviews with him in the film. But, from what I read, it did distort some things about him. Well i watched both Hunter Killer and 6 underground on Netflix. Is Hunter Killer a submarine film?

Yep, Americans good guys, Russian bad guys.

This was actually mentioned on another site and the film downgraded some of the details. For instance where he carried on after being shot IIRC he was actually wounded a lot worse than shown in the film. Simply because the makers of the film didn't think people would believe the true details as being too far fetched. Seems to have been a very, very brave man.

I went to see Knives Out yesterday. It was entertaining but not brilliant. Worth a couple of hours of my time for mindless entertainment.

Just saw Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. I watched that last night myself. Overall, I enjoyed the movie, though the first few scenes seemed rushed and it incorporated some silly pandering.

I saw Under the Skin the other night. It is a 2013 with Scarlett Johansen and, apparently, from what I read a big-ish deal at the time. I'd never heard of it before. A very strange film. I watched it until the end - four o'clock in the morning! - because it was engaging. Yet, it was very strange.

I watched Jumanji: The Next Level a few days ago. Though an enjoyable movie, the jokes--though with certain exceptions--weren't as funny as in the first movie.

Saw Aladdin on Disney+, was okay, but miss Robin Williams as Genie. Yeah, so do I. That said, I still found Will Smith's performance entertaining and a novel flavor of Genie for a 2019 live-action remake.
