November 6th 2008:Due to the close nature of the results of the state of Ohio. People mostly Democrats protest outside the Govenor's building in Columbus to start a recount for the election. November 7th 2008: President Elect McCain declares in a statement to the press that if the people of Ohio request it, he will support a recount but that in his views the voting in Ohio was by the books. |

I don't think McCain can overcome the economic collapse and the unpopulairty of both Bush and the Iraq War. I think Palin helped McCain. She was a bridge builder to skeptical social conservatives.

With a President McCain there is no Stimulas Package. The economy does not recover as it did OTL. This helps Hillary in 2012.
