POD:First off John McCain unites the party and chooses runner up Mitt Romney as his running mate.
Senator McCain does not vote for the bailout bill and campagins against it.
Colin Powell endorses John McCain instead of Barack Obama
The Obama Jeremiah Wright scandal comes back
McCain is seen more experience in the economy in the debates whille Biden still is seen as the winner of the VP debates.
McCain campaigns more into Ohio, New Hampshire and Pennsylvania in the final days.
November 4th 2008:John McCain is elected as the 44th President in a total nail biter in one of the closest elections in history as the media declares him the winner of Ohio early Wednesday Morning.

Going to be difficult after 8 years of Bush not to get a change to the Republicans but may occur. Does McCain still have Palin as his VP or does he get someone who can boost his support more? If he does vote against the bailout scheme he's going to have problems doing anything to help recover from the depression unless he looks like an hypocrite by doing an about turn. [Unless he proposes something that helps savers rather than the financial institutions but that could be difficult to get passed.] Guessing this was the one you mentioned in the PM so my initial thoughts. |

November 5th 2008:President Elect McCain spoke in his Phoenix Arizona campaign headquarters for his victory speech in which he declares victory and told his supporters
"We did it"
He said he will try his best and hardest to appeal to everyone in this nation in these tough times.
Also McCain congrated Senator Obama on his historal campaign that just came up short in the end.

November 6th 2008:Due to the close nature of the results of the state of Ohio. People mostly Democrats protest outside the Govenor's building in Columbus to start a recount for the election.
