Remember that the army organised for the peasants expedition against the royalist position in the north have been practically disbanded and London itself is vulnerable (excluding the militias that will be formed in case of invasion). But you know how peasants sometimes are... If they really want to stay strong they will stay strong... That must be a lot of gold for having a 10,000 strong army. Most of the man volunteer for a Holy cause but the riches of England probably will be well received by them... The rebels lands shall be plundered and burned to the ground!

Most of the The rebels lands shall be plundered and burned to the ground! The locals will not like that. That, plus the revolutionising nature of the religious and political reforms could have an affect like the French revolution, with mass mobilisation of the population, especially if its seen as a war for survival. Their probably more likely to compare to say the early Roman republic after the explusion of the Tarquin dynasty but possibly the same sort of idea. Also England already has a more decentralised military power in that there are a lot of veteran men at arms and archers from the wars with France and a national programme of training the latter. As such it could assemble a very powerful army for defence pretty quickly. In fact the main short term threat could be that with the country divided there could be some hugely bloody battles between the two 'English' factions even without outsiders. Just a thought in what has happened to the 'English' and allied armies in France? The Plantagenates were losing land since ~1365 odd but still had some possessions, especially in Gascony I believe. To the apparently small army is added a group of 500 man between 17 and 25 that from Cumbria to support the king and the levies of the local lords and some of them offered to fight in the southern shores of England it the king himself. In July Urban VI call all Christian rulers to support John in his reconquest of London and stop all military hostilities against England but it the Catholic church divided and the relatively hard journey to the island a mere 1.000 knights reach Ireland before the army sail to the east.

No matter how good the story it isn't something that should take priority over real life. Take your time. We'll still be here when you can write.
