To kill one of John Connor's generals as a child. Will that make a difrence, John will still live even if one of his generals dies.

Could be, since the nuclear war was supposed to have occurred by now and also John Connor's victory hasn't it - not that familiar with the Terminator universe - you have a Terminator that has somehow crossed over to our TL in which case its going to be confused. Plus very lethal. If as direct as in the original film its going to start killing off anyone with the appropiate name in San Francisco until its stopped, which will take some doing but is likely to occur originally, Of course if it looks like a certain actor, he could be asked some awkward questions . Since this nearly a decade before the film then its unlikely someone will notice the relationship, even if someone has a draft script.

And then the US will study the remains of the terminator and it results in our timeline of Skynet.

And then the US will study the remains of the terminator and it results in our timeline of Skynet. That is the danger of course. And the bad thing of course is that in our universe whe do not have a John Conner to defeat what ever our version of Skynet will be.

That is the danger of course. And the bad thing of course is that in our universe whe do not have a John Conner to defeat what ever our version of Skynet will be. I mean to say that timeline, not our timeline. The U.S. takes 13 years to study it and develop Skynet earlier.

The U.S. takes 13 years to study it and develop Skynet earlier. So the Terminator would appear in the Terminator universe 13 years earlier, thanks for the explanation.

Immediately after 13 years of development, Skynet becomes operational on August 22, 1990.

Immediately after 13 years of development, Skynet becomes operational on August 22, 1990. And everything as they know it will cease to exist.
