What if, for whatever reason, Pakistan would have directly intervened in the Soviet-Afghan War on the side of the Mujahideen?

Pakistan's going to be vulnerable to Soviet attacks and possibly Indian attacks as well, sparking a lot of tensions in the region; the US is going to have to be careful in not letting the affair start WWIII but at the very least aid Pakistan since it is an ally against the USSR.

Would India actually want to enter this war, though?

As long as Pakistan drains manpower and military equipment and money in Afghanistan i would think India will remain a neutral country who does not get involved.

Maybe they will help the Soviet Union in the shadows. That can happen given its sympathies at the time. Maybe by placing some divisions to the border forcing the Pakistan to leave some of their own best to guard for a possible attack by India.
