In the grim darkness of India, there is only war. On a massive scale i can guess. Of course, once India decides that they no longer want to be slaves all the guns in the Commonwelath can't stop them. Won't stop them from trying though.

The revolt has been going for a long time, it is just that Gandhi getting publicly executed for high treason killed of the non-violent movement at the same time.

Wow, that is a blow to the Free India movement. Stellingsma really hates Indians and any prominent Indian who disobeyed the law might as well have a "shoot me!" sign hanging around his neck. That he rallied thousands to join him was just icing on the cake.

A minor Thing I have been working on. It is a brief summary of the various members of the Strike Witches. Jagdstaffel 501 “Die Streik Hexe” (formed in 1942, formally dissolved 1951)
Oberstleutnant Minna-Dietlinde Wilcke (Founding member. Born 1913-death 1966. Claimed 199 kills.)
Hartmann Gertrude Barkhorn (Founding member. Born 1919-death 1983. Claimed 250 kills.)
Haubtmann Erica Hartman (Founding member. Born 1922-death 1992. Claimed 206 kills.)
Lieutenant Charlotte E. Yeager (USAF liaison officer. Born 1923- death 1990. Claimed 151 kills.)
Master sergeant Lynette Bishop (RCAF liaison officer. Born 1922-death 1956. Claimed 72 kills.)
Majoor Mio Sakamoto (KLm liaison officer. Born 1916-death 2000. Claimed 69 kills. Note: served as spy for Sektie III from 1933 until 1943 and was the one who brought back a working Zero for the Allies to study.)
Leutnant Perrine H. Clostermann (French refugee. Born 1921-death 2006. Claimed 33 kills.)
Sottotenente Francesca Lucchini (Italian refugee, later promoted to liaison officer. Born 1917-death 1977. Claimed 45 kills.)
Leytenant Aleksandra Vladimirovna Litvyak (Swedish-Russian liaison officer. Born 1921- death 1978. Claimed 16 Kills.)
Mladshiy Leytenant Eila Ilmatar Juutilainen (Former Finnish freedom fighter turned loyalist, joined the Strike Witches to escape the country. Born 1914-death 1999. Claimed 94 kills.)
Obergefreiter Yoshika Miyafuji (Japanese refugee, joined the Strike Witches to have a place to stay. Born 1928- death 1989. As the squadron’s cook her only victories are from winning people over with her cooking.)

That would require all of the going off to found families of their own instead of some staying together in totally platonic couples. The only ones who had children were Trude (With Erica as a permanent houseguest), Shirley, Perrine and Francesca. Fortunantly the spirit of all witch squadrons lives on in the 500th fighter squadron "The White Witches".

The United Provinces has the Willem Order, Germany has the Knight's Cross With the Iron Cross, the United States has the Medal of Valour, Canada has the Victoria's Cross, Britain had the Hero of the People medal (discontinued in 1946), Sweden-Russia has the Order of the Sword, Brazil has the Cross of Liberty, Indonesia has the Medal for Gallantry and France had the Order of Napoleon (discontinued in 1945).

Nice medals they have, i think the Willem Order is in the same order as the Medal of Honor in OTL.
