What if Egypt would have launched a full-scale invasion of Libya in 1977 with the goals of overthrowing Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi, imposing a new, pro-Egyptian government in Libya, and acquiring a part of Libya's oil for itself? We would have a democratic pro Egyptian Libya who did not supported terrorism. Democratic? In a Arab meaning yes, no sponsoring of terrorist groups, no terrorist bombing by its own intelligence agency, good relations with the United States. |
