What if James G. Blaine would have won the U.S. Presidency in 1884?
Any thoughts on this?

Any ideas as to where exactly President Blaine will try to expand, though? During his time as Secretary of State he wanted renegotiation of the Clayton–Bulwer Treaty to allow the United States to construct a canal through Panama without British involvement, Mabey ifhe is president he will order the construction to begin of the Panama Canal if that is possible. He also wanted to establish trade with Korea and Madagascar, that could happen under his presidency.

It seems to me that i was wrong, the French already begun work on the Panama canal in 1881, maybe if he is president he have the United States join the building and make sure it is completed before OTL date.

I think the French attempt failed because they had insufficient knowledge of the causes of yellow fever and maleria which devastated their labour forces. Would the US have had the necessary knowledge at the time either? Plus if I recall correctly it was seen as very much a prestige project by the French government so they might not welcome intervention by another power. It might be however that the US considers a rival canal, say via Nicaragua, which I think was the preferred alternative route.
