What if French King Charles X would have gotten overthrown before he decided to invade Algeria?
Indeed, what would the post-1830 development of Algeria look like in this scenario?
Any thoughts on this?

Also, for the record, I doubt that French King Louis Philippe would invade Algeria in this scenario. After all, as far as I know, Louis Philippe was an anti-imperialist and only expanded the Algerian War in real life due to the fact that this war was too popular among the French people for France to stop this war and to withdraw from Algeria.

Indeed, how much longer will Algiers/Algeria remain independent in this scenario in comparison to real life?
Any thoughts on this?

Louis Philippe--just like in real life. The problem is will France not invade when Napoleon III is in power or does he not come into power here.

But if Napoleon III can make it work he can show the French people that he can rule a true great French Empire.

I'm not sure any other country would have been that likely to. Spain wouldn't have had the resources and Italy might not have the military strength even after unification. Germany is unlikely to be interested in the region once its unified unless butterflies are significantly different and I doubt Britain would have real interest in the area. Not sure who else would have been practical.

Maybe after the winning of the Franco-Prussian War maybe as before the Prussians where not into having colonies.

That's a possibility but presuming that he still exists in this TL and so many other things hadn't changed either. It would definitely antagonise France [as a threat to their southern border], Britain [to Gibraltar and their trade through the Med] and probably Spain and Italy as well. If he had directed his OTL hostility towards East Asians towards Muslims instead it could be nasty for the inhabitants.
