Of course; we could see the Battle of San Juan Hill, for example. That would be one of the big battles in the game i think. It would. Also, maybe the battle of Manila?

It turns out that EA originally rejected the game because they were afraid that people didn't know enough about WWI to play it. Hopefully this spreads awareness about the war and how it shaped our current world.

Well lets hoop so but i still think that the makers of CoD are not going to go in this direction and stay sticking with future combat.

A World War II game with the Germans invading the United States is always a game i like to play, i know of one i liked to play some years ago with a good timeline explaining the universe where the game was based in.

I know there was one that was critically panned; the name escapes me.

Well the game I mentioned, AoD (Arsenal of Democracy), which is a spin off of the HoI universe can end up with that, especially since Germany is ridiculously over-powered in terms of production, leaders and research teams. Mind you you do have to build up by taking out France, Britain and Russia, not necessarily in that order, 1st.

Well I must admit I've only really played Russia, as the easiest of the great powers for a new player. [Only one front to bother about and largely ignore the navy. Also since everybody hates you diplomacy is pretty simple. However as a micro-manager I tend to be very slow playing. Started a game as Germany a couple of years back then RL intervenes and since then its gone from v1.08 to v1.10 and getting used to playing it again and adjusting to the changes, playing Russia again. Some time I might even catch up with them.
