G '54 is probably my all-time favorite. The most moving of the films. I got to see it on the big screen a few years ago. Well worth it if you get the chance. Getting to see that on the big screen in a real theater in New York City was one of the BEST things EVER for me! I brought my sister and some friends with me, and while my sister already understands and appreciates it the movie really impressed my friends, none of whom really knew what they were in for. My now Brother-in-Law still talks about how impressed he was. ^_^ Actually, how many of us have seen any of these films in a theater? What have you seen? I've seen: Godzilla (1954), Mothra, Godzilla (1998), Godzilla 2000, King Kong (2005), Death Kappa, Cloverfield, Super 8, Pacific Rim, and Godzilla (2014). 1954 original trailer. It seems there are many full versions online, think i have to watch some of them. This one is fanmade, but I really like this trailer for the original movie: Only Godzilla (1998), King Kong (2005), Cloverfield, Super 8, Pacific Rim and Godzilla (2014).

I watched Kong: Skull Island today. It was alright, none of the characters were incredible memorable but Kong was defenitly the best part of the Movie.

I think the most extreme was virtually a team tag with Godzilla and King Kong defending Japan against another pair of monsters. [One I think was Motha but what the other one was I can't remember]. Vaguely remember seeing a Godzilla v King Kong from Japan on TV back in the 70's and all I can really remember was that a scientist being asked about it predicted KK would win because he was far more intelligent. - Actually a quick search shows this, which you might not want to see if your talking about the historical film. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/King_Kong_vs._Godzilla]

The 2014 film seem to have passed me by as can't remember it being discussed yet and it doesn't appear to have shown up on TV yet. The current Kong film seems to have been rather panned by critics so will have to see if the other two films come out and hopefully they can do a bit better. Thanks for the link Steve

While I must admit to a bias against his work because of the LOTR mess I do admit I quite liked the Peter Jackson one a few years back.

[What is he made of, neutronium?] The Godzilla page mentions a few weaknesses, especially provided Kong can get behind him and also grows massively before the film clash. However it does look rather one sided.

Does Pacific Rim count? I watched it a while back for the second time (first was years ago) and I quite enjoyed it.

Heisei Era was the best IMO.
