I wonder if the people in the US will allow the US to become fascist, could this not turn into a 2nd civil war between a Fascist lead government and those who value the value of freedom. That is a distinct possibility depending on the circumstances. Even if the fascist government successfully made a claim for national rejuvenation and this gains the acceptance of most of the established WASP elements racial and religious minorities and more recent immigrants, even if they weren't targets of its policies could be less welcoming. With the easy access to weapons and wide areas of thinly populated lands there is plenty of options for at least widespread guerilla resistance. Especially if the fascists gained power by non-democratic means opposition could be vastly greater and there might be the chance of support by foreign powers, most noticeably Canada/Britain. Steve Are the southern states more likely to become fascist than the northern states or is there no way to tell what they would choice in the 1930s.

If the regime is heavily racist then there might be strong support for it in the old south but also in many areas of the north. Don't forget in the big surge in support for the KKK in the early 20's the state it had the most followers in was Illinois. Also there could be support in the west due to anti-Japanese and anti-Chinese sentiment.
