There are threads about aircraft and quite some on Warships but I couldn't find one of these fighter aircraft many deemed obsolete at the outbreak of WWII but which managed or nations were forced to use all the way to the end.
Off we go:
A number of such aircraft would be the ones servicing the Finnish Airforce -
Brewster Buffalo, which was deemed obsolete at wars opening but which in Finn hands had a tremendous score against its adversaries,
Finnish service
Curtiss P-36/Hawk 75, which fought for Finland, the French, British commonwealth, Netherlands East Indies, China and Finland all through the war and saw development into the new in-line engined P-40,
French service
Fiat CR-42, an Italian biplane also obsolete at wars opening but remained in Finn and Swedish service throughout the war,
Swedish service
Fiat G. 50, a monoplane that by the Italians saw development but stayed in its origianal configuration in Finnis Airforce all through the war and had also seen service in the Spanish Civil War,
Finnish service
Fokker D-XXI, monoplane with fixed spatted undercarriage also made it through the war in Finland,

Dutch service
Gloster Gladiator, a British biplane also obsolete at wars outbreak but soldiered on in Finnish and Swedish service,
Norwegian service - fought from 9 April 1940 there
Morane Saulnier MS 406, an obsolete monoplane at wars outbreak. Used by Finland throughout the war though the Finns gave it a stronger engine which was also the case in Switzerland. In Italian, Turk and Croat service it just soldiered on,
Croatian service
Polikarpov I-16, obsolete though it had fought in the Spanish Civil War for China against the Japanese and at Nomonhan in Manchuria/Mongolia,
Nationalist Chinese service
finally Dewoitine De 520, the most advanced French fighter at the outbreak of WWII. Following the French armistige the Germans sold aircraft to Italy, Bulgaria and Romania where then fought on against the Allies while the Germans used them as fighter-trainers in France. Upon the Allied landing in the south of France the french factory crews repossessed the aircraft the Germans had left behind repainted these with Invasion-stribes and used as escorts for Ju-88 bombers also picked up. The De 520 fought all of WWII in its original configuration beginning and ending in French service.
French service 1939-43
French service 1944-45
Even its engine Hispano-Suiza which had been licenced to the Soviet Union had been uprated and used in the Yak-3 fighter which was delivered to Normandie-Niemen Fighter Regiment in the Soviet Union and 37 of these were brought back to France post WWII to serve in the French airforce in Normandie-Niemen Regiment alongside Focke Wulf 190 fighers produced in France! Thus the circle came full.
