Hello there,
I am new to the Alternate Timelines community and thrilled to have found a place with like minded enthusiasts. I have been fascinated by the concept of alternate history for as long as I can remember and am finally diving into creating my own timeline. Although; I am encountering a few challenges and would love to get some advice from the more experienced members here.
What if the Russian Revolution of 1917 had failed, and the Tsarist regime managed to maintain control? I've done a fair bit of research on the period, but I'm struggling with the following aspects:
How would the failure of the revolution affect Russia's political landscape in the short term? I'm considering the impact on the military, economy, and social fabric, but I’m unsure about the specifics and the plausibility of different outcomes.
With the Tsarist regime still in power, how would Russia's relationships with major powers like Germany, Britain, and the United States evolve? Particularly interested in the potential alliances and conflicts during the interwar period and World War II.
What cultural and societal changes might occur in a Russia that avoids Bolshevik influence? How would the arts, education, and daily life differ from the historical path we know?
Looking further ahead, how might this alternate history influence global events in the latter half of the 20th century? Would the Cold War still occur, or would we see an entirely different set of geopolitical dynamics?
Thank you in advance for your help and assistance.

Surprise me the game you linked is still active.

The time before the Russian Revolution was very chaotic. If the Bolshevists failed, many outcomes are possible. Maybe there'll be a prolonged confused time - "smuta" it's called in Russian.

I think for a well thought out AH TL the devil is always in the detail. For one thing do you mean the February/March revolution which overthrew the Czar or the October/November Bolshevik one, which was basically a coup against the PD [Provisional Government].
If so why did the revolution fail? Is it something with lasting effects, such as Nickolas II actually getting and accept wise information about the need for reform or for some reason the revolution is suppressed, which could just push the issue back a few months or year. Or any one of a wider range of possible factors such as say a successful Galipolli campaign in 1915 means the defeat of the CP [Central Powers] before disaster and exhaustion prompts the revolution.
For most PoD there are multiple possible ways things can change and then that assorted people and groups can react to those changes. To a degree there are limiting 'rails' so to speak which confine changes to some degree - for instance your very unlikely to have Louis XVI suddenly decide to accept full democracy and male suffrage - but you could have a multiple way to have the 1789 French revolution altered or prevented altogether, if only for a while and for France, Europe and the rest of the world to change after that.
I think basically feel free to suggest ideas and consider questions from other people on "why do you see that happening rather than X, Y or Z" and "I don't think that is practical because person A would never agree to such an idea". Done well it needs a decent amount of research into the known details of the time and what changes can and can't happen.

Firstly, welcome.
I’ll add a bit more later, but for now, the paramount advice is: Set your PoD and then run with it, setting aside any preconceptions of what you might like to happen or think may occur beyond the medium term. With such a major PoD, a whole lot of things change, especially in socio-cultural terms, so be prepared for a very different outcome.
