Autumn 1811
The leader of the Indians of the Northwest, Tecumseh, had managed to assemble a massive group of around 3,540 aboriginals in Prophetstown. Nearly 1/3rd of these men are fighting men, Territorial Governor, William Henry Harrison of Indiana was charged with supressing, this revolt with 750 men and crushing Tecumsehs "Confederacy" of local tribes, the prophet of the Indians, Tecumseh's brother and Harrison would face off at a small camp outside of Prophetstown on 6 November 1811, the attack on the Indian side would begin at 4 AM with 100 infiltrators who were charged with killing the American boys as they slept. 3 men were in charge of killing Harrison. One of these men "Robert Looks Twice" a 27 year old cree would deliver a tomahawk to Harrisons neck, decapitating him.
The camp would be steadily massacred as the Indians crept through killing 1 by 1, when the sentrys noticed it would be too late, the remaining Americans began to panic and flee the encampment
The Indians surrounded them and they were unceremoniously cut down only 2 survivors were left to tell the tale of what happened.
The leader of the Northwest Indians' brother, Tenskwatawa had solidified himself as a prophet in the eyes of the Indians he acheived a grand unheard of victory over the white man never seen since St. Clairs debacle
Those who doubted were put to shame as the Ohio River valley found itself under Confederacy forces. Even Men from the more relatively well five civilized tribes even began deserting to him.
Madison upon learning of the defeat was caught screaming "Harrison give me my men back" at his aides

Well that would be interesting but could be very costly for all involved.
OTL Tecumseh was absent, seeking to influence the southern tribes and had instructed his brother Tenskwatawa to avoid conflict at all costs. Tenskwatawa, faced with the threat from Harrison's force, which was obviously seeking conflict made his night attack but it failed miserably. Here its been massively successful but what will be the American reaction. I would expect a strong military one as they can recruit a lot more forces and will be eager for revenge and to crush Tecumseh's Confederacy and open up the region to white settlement. I fear an even worse time for the Indians than OTL.
One possible butterfly is that the 1812 conflict doesn't occur. With a greater perceived threat from the Indians the US might not be as eager to attack Canada and won't do so before news that the UK has compromised on the issue of seizing sailors [whether British, American or both] from US ships which would remove the prime argument used for the war.

War of 1812 yr. 1 On 18 July 1812, the United States declared War on the British Empire, one of the largest Empires in history with bases to the North, East and South to the US, but the Empire was distracted by Napeleone Bonaparte, famous European conqueror, this meant that the US could invade Canada without encountering any sort of major troops from Britain itself, but local Canadian troops and Tecumseh's Confederacy proved a dangerous obstacle to the United States Army, Fort Detroit and Mackinac Island were seized, the most notable part of this was Fort Detroit was siezed mostly without a fight as the local commander was horrified of the Britishs native alliws, by September there were British-Confederate attacks and a blockade by Britain was beginning to be erected, William Hulls army found itself pushed into New York after a battle or 2 and a Canadian retaliation attempt at Sackets Harbour failed. In September of 1812, Tecumseh's forces would raize the Capital of Illinois territory, Kassakia forcing a surrender of the territory. Tecumseh had removed American forces from Illinois and Michigan territory along with Indiana and US forces were now on the defensive in the Midwest and New York
On 31 December, 1812, Tecumseh held his own and the Canadian forces had prevented any major gains into both Canadas, a disappointing situation for leaders in Washington City, to make matters worse the beginnings of a blockade forming disrupted the American economy and discontented the New Englander states

Ah so the US has still gone for the attack on Canada despite the stronger position of the Indians here. One possible butterfly here which might further boost the British/Indian position might be if Issac Brock doesn't die in his victory at the Battle of Queenston Heights if that's the way you want to go. Only a few changes so far as 1812 were good for the British/Indian forces on the front line in N America but this could end up bad for the US. Especially if the mention of distress in New England means that the Hartford Convention gathers steam and goes further than OTL.

War of 1812 yr. 2 In the year 1813, the US burned down York and the British counterattacked in New York, Tecumsehs Confederacy would continue gaining and gaining in Ohio, British offensives into New York once again stalemated, but the US economy was beginning to suffer big time as the blockade wiped away trade and the tariff revenue that came from it leading to the economy being nearly destroyed.
The US would fight on however as their gains outside of punitive expeditions never materialized
5. War of 1812 yr. In 1814 with Britain free to send troops to the Americas from Europe and Tecumsehs gains continuing the War would reach a head with the Plattsburgh and Washington City offensives Plattsburgh, Washington City, Baltimore and President James Madison and James Monroe were all captured by October 1814, Vice President Elbridge Gerry in Philadelphia was now “Caretaker President” leading to a constitutional crisis and a crippling of its War effort to resist Britain, Gerry called for “an immediate ceasefire” so he could elections in the United States and get things sorted out now that Madison and Monroe were out of the picture, Gerry would move the US capital back to Philadelphia viewing Washington City as indefensible and leaving it effectively abandoned to the dust bin, in the midst of this chaos Vermont seceded. Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New Hampshire and Connicticuet made seperare peaces. Gerry held elections from November-December 1815 and they ended in a victory for James Wilkinson, Democratic-Republican. Wilkinson would be inaugurated in 1816 and the Federalist party hemerroghed and died as a result of being labeled "traitors and suckers".
Ghent would be ratified in 1815.

The Treaty of Ghent was massively destructive for the young nation of the US.
Britain would acquire Maine and give the United States reparations for it. Tecumseh's Confederacy would rule the Old Northwest, North and West of the Greenville Treaty Line. Vermont was to be recognized as an “Free and Sovereign State”
The US after this defeat would be plunged into the “Remembrance Era” as populism rose across the USA
